Owner description: Copenhagen's Nyhaven, or "New Harbor," is actually steeped in a long heritage. Colorful buildings line the canal and hint at a history of small-vessel traffic. Like many ports, this strip has a salty history, rich with sailors, drinking and literary exploits. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen made his home in Nyhavn as well. It's cleaned up now and is a lovely place for a stroll.

“Nice harbor with great restaurants and bars”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

A must for Copenhagen visitors, for me one of the nicest spots in Copenhagen. Quite touristic but still very nice with all the boats and bars.

“This is Copenhagen!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Nyhavn gives you the feel of old Copenhagen with the trendy feeling of today. A trip to Copenhagen is a waste if you don't stroll here and stop for a 'beer and a bite' at one of the many restaurants.

“Beautiful at Christmas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

An exciting place to be with the Christmas markets along the snow covered Nyhavn. Plenty of craft and food shops to look at with a festive atmosphere fitting of a northern hemisphere Christmas.

“Great area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Very busy area with tourists but lots of restaurants, bars and ice cream shops to go to. Also the canal tours leave from here which is worth taking.

“Bustling city scene”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Beautiful city scene leading to the harbour. Absolutely lovely!

Note - it is extremely busy on a Sunday particularly, but who can blame the locals wanting to share the area with the tourists!

Full of lots of little bars and eateries but most too expensive for me. However, for simply soaking up the atmosphere, it is a beautiful place and am visiting again.
