“Brilliant collection in a stunning setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Art Museum in Copenhagen is a stunning setting for a superb collection of sculpture and paintings from Denmark and France and an interesting selection of Roman artifacts. The building was purpose-built to house the personal collection of Carlsberg brewery titan Carl Jacobsen at the start of the 20th century. In addition to the large atrium space in the centre of the museum, natural light floods many of the galleries in a way you rarely see in art museums. The excellent café is perched on the edge of the atrium area and is a good spot for a coffee, snack or lunch.

“I can see again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014

There are couple of museums of such a type in Europe. But not many. The collection of ancient objects and art pieces here is great. One of the art museums to see in Coenhagen

“IF YOU LIKE ANCIENT HISTORY AND SCULPTURE THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

This was a wonderful place to wander around and take in someone else's passion for sculpture. There were some very interesting parts including the area on how, in the past they tried to repair the missing noses and other missing parts of statues, and how often this did more damage than good.

I also liked the area where they had more modern subjects, but done in ancient style. Very interesting.

“Wonderful sculpture and a rooftop terrace with a view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

The sculpture in this museum is definitely the highlight. We almost missed half of the museum as it is hidden out the back corner of the indoor garden. At the top of this second part of the museum is a rooftop terrace with views of Copenhagen (weather permitting).

“Sculpture Rooms amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

A unique lay-out to a museum, based around a central garden that you come back to visit the different areas. The French impressionists are excellent and the 19th & 20th century French and Scandinavian sculptures were really spectacular.
