“A must in Copenhagen”

This is really a true proof that alcohol, in this case beer, can create something wonderful! The museum was build through the earnings made from the Carlsberg beer. And amazing they are. If you are lover of old Rome or Egypt this is the place for you. You will walk here with wide eyes, truly impressed by the things you can see here. If you visit will youngsters they will surely like the mumified hand to be seen in the Egyptian section.

This is the best gathering of Ancient artifacts in Scandinavia!

The museum also has a great collection of paintings, I must admit that I have never visited that part of the museum though.

The museum is located neighbour to the Tivoli Garden and only a few minutes walk from the Town Hall Square, easy to locate and a perfect place to go to if the weather should fail you.

There is a small, very nice, cafeteria, but sometimes it can be hard to find seats, so early arrival is suggested if you want a break in your tour.

There is so much to see; one can spend a whole day inside and still have to rush. A lot of impressive sculptures and a lot more to see that will drop jaws.

“it is the permanent collection”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

Impressive permanent collection. Greek and roman busts. Good collection of french paintings in a recent addition - drawn by Henning Larsen. Impressive and very old indoor garden. Great cakes in the little cafeteria in the indoor garden - in the unlikely event you find a place to sit.
