“Great location - worst hotel”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

This is about the worst hotel I have stayed in. Apart from the location right next to the railway station in the middle of town it has nothing at all going for it. I had a room on the first floor next to the station and it had no extras what so ever. The room was a single with a double bed and only had a single blanket which didn't even cover the bed. The carpet is horrible and stained and not even a hair dryer. This was booked though my work and I have to say if I had rad the comments I never would have agreed to stay there. Take my advice avoid this place!!!

Room Tip: Avoid the place completely!!!

Let's get this out of the way straight off: Copenhagen is an expensive city. Zleep offers budget priced options, but be careful as upgrading can be surprisingly costly. I stayed here twice in one week: first in a single room and then in a twin room (both times travelling on my own). The single room is unbelievably small and Spartan. I felt like I was on the movie set of "nun's story" so basic was the accommodation. Nothing and I mean nothing is provided in the rooms: no kettle, no hair dryer. But at around $90 (US) in Central Copenhagen it is hard to do better. Later I upgraded to a twin room because my stay was longer. The room was, understandably larger, and really what I would normally expect for a single room. Again very basic facilities but comfortable and I enjoyed my stay. However, for a basic twin room - again no kettle, no hairdryer, no iron, I was paying close to $200 (US) a night, at that price I could probably have done better.
My advice: if you can stand a very small room, the single room is excellent value for money, or if you can get a discounted twin room, then that is great too. But paying full price for the twin room does feel expensive even for Copenhagen.
Also, ask for a room on the side away from the train station. Even as a fairly sound sleeper I found the train noise quite disturbing especially at 5am. The staff are lovely, really helpful.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room away from the train station (or bring ear plugs, seriously). And try to ge...

A budget hotel with old carpets on the floor, no air condition, small rooms, old-fashioned bathrooms etc. The breakfast buffet (not included in the room rate) is not very interesting. Had this been any other hotel in Copenhagen, I would give it a low rating.

However - the location of this hotel is perfect. If you arrive in Copenhagen by train (or by air - in which case you will take the train from airport to the central station) - it is situated just a few steps from the main entrance to the station. This, and the fact that the room rate is very low, makes this a perfect place to stay if don't need luxury accomodation.

There are lots of restaurants and bars close to the hotel.

The hotel offers free, stable, WiFi.

Were here on holiday in 2009 and now again for 5 nights. This hotel is easy and fast to reach from the airport train, the rooms are very clean and with big windows and everything is with walking distance (Tivoli 5 min, Stroget 10 min, Shopping mall Fisketorvet 15 min, Christiania 25 min). Breakfast has not very large selection but enough for us; coffee, juice, boiled eggs, cereals & youghurt, cheese, ham, fresh fruits and extremely fresh (warm) bread. The receiption ladies were very helpful. Some street noice during the night time, but no construction work near this hotel. Advise for lunch; Restaurant Panorama in the Fisketorvet - there was a very good buffet with only 48 DKK/person with a nice view to the canal.

If you are familiar with the Zleep hotel chain, you know to expect the basics. The beds are quite comfy for a budget hotel and are the same as any other Zleep hotel in the chain. The building is the old Hotel Astoria which was a luxury hotel from days gone by. They kept the old fashioned doors and lifts which adds a nice charm. Our room was HUGE with original antique tile in the bath and two equally huge windows. We had an 'Astoria Club' room. I saw other reviewers said the rooms were small. There is NO A/C so expect to be warm during holiday months. Its also exactly next to the train station. Don't let the smell of urine turn you away from the front of the building. Once you get inside you will be pleased. They are still using metal keys instead of magnetic cards so as not to deform the original doors. Expect to leave your key at the front desk when you go out.

Room Tip: Ask for the Astoria Club rooms on the 3rd floor.

Right next to the train station, I think it is the best-located accommodation choice in Copenhagen.

Within walking distance to a wide array of dining options and city attractions, this hotel is very accessible.

Shopping district is 10 mins' walk away.

Furnishings are modern and bed was comfortable. On the main corridors, there are balconies which overlook the streets.

Only downside probably is the breakfast buffet which was really limited and not worth the price.

I definitely recommend this hotel for a good night's stay and if you want to explore the city.
