“Room is too cramed”
Reviewed January 20, 2011

Even though the other facilities like the lobby, the restaurants are ok. The room is too small infact smaller than most of the European hotel rooms. I was really shocked to see such small hotel room in N Delhi.

Thank you for your review. We do have a few rooms in the hotel that are a bit on the small side. As we can't do anything about the the outer walls of the room, we are instead tring to come up with ways to furnish the room. At the moment we are redecorating these rooms with the goal of freeing up some space.

Hotel is located perfectly, close to the city center.
Rooms are dated and bathrooms need refurbishment and cleaning.
Breakfast is fresh and nice.
Staff is polite and proffesional.

All in all, a good choice for the price range.

We were impressed with the service at the hotel. There is nothing wrong with the size of the room.Everyone from the guard at the gate to the reception to room service were friendly and helpfull.Would love to stay there again.Food and drinks are on the expensive side. Not much variety in the food.

I stayed at this hotel in September 2010. I was very pleased with the hotel. The central location was important to my stay, but I was pleasantly surprised by the lush green park right next door - right in the center of the city.
My room (double room) had a really comfortable bed and all basic necessities. Plenty hangers in the closet, extra pillows, desk, comfy chair and flatscreen TV with broad range of channels.
Bathroom although not the biggest was clean and with plenty of towels/shampoo etc.
The staff was very helpful and welcoming and recommended a very nice steakhouse nearby.
I especially enjoyed the free highspeed internet available on all floors (had two different rooms).
Breakfast was included in rate and was excellent, as was the tea, coffee, apples and cookies available all day free of charge.
Hotel is not posh or luxury but more cozy and relaxed.
I'll be back here for my next stay in Copenhagen.

If you don't have a lot of money, then this is a good place to stay. You get very helpful receptionists, an excellent breakfast, tea, coffee, cold drinks, biscuits and sometimes pastries left over from breakfast all day and accommodation that is very reasonable. The location is in a very nice part of Copenhagen, very near a large park. We walked everywhere and never felt it a trek back to the hotel. Once you get to know the area, there are lots of shops and supermarkets within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant next door was having a major renovation during our stay, which meant workmen starting very early in the morning and disturbing our sleep, but the work should be completed by now. We had a room at the back, one of the standard ones, and someone throws bottles into the large bins around 6am every morning and the refusemen also came very early one morning, so perhaps a room at the front of the building might be a better bet. Yes, the hotel is somewhat dated, but we went on the Internet and for the money, it's a very good hotel. Copenhagen and Denmark for that matter, is very, very expensive. Luckily we had hot weather and shopped in Netto, then we had picnics in the lovely parks - just as the Danes do. If you like good beer, then please visit Charlie's Bar at Pilestraede 33 owned by Iain Russell, it's a gem. Christiania, the commune where all the hippies are and who sell cannabis is not worth the effort of visiting. It's out on a limb and frankly, very disappointing. Instead, visit the beautiful Rosenborg Castle, which lies in the middle of the King’s Gardens and sees the crown jewels. Buy a joint ticket to the Rosenborg Castle and the Amalienborg Palace - it works out much cheaper. Personally, I didn't like the Amalienborg Palace, but it's such a contrast between modern and historical that it's perhaps worth a visit. Read up on it, it's very interesting. 45 mins to queue though, so be prepared. Changing of the guard is fun too. A very relaxed affair, nothing compared to our setup here. Copenhagen is not as big as you imagine. We walked everywhere and soon got our bearings. It's a lovely city and the people are very helpful and friendly. We very much liked the Lutheran churches, but do visit St. Albans Church, which is the only English church in Copenhagen, if not Denmark, and the people there are SO welcoming. Back to Christian IV, you can't go wrong with it really with all things taken into consideration. For what you pay you get quite a lot.

Not the most conveniently situated hotel for the centre of Copenhagen but it makes up for it through its basic comfort and the friendliness of the staff who really make you feel welcome. Our room was basic but comfortable. No mini bar/fridge or coffee-making. Very quiet until about 8am when workmen started refurbishing a restaurant next door (probably only very short term). Free tea and coffee - and Danish pastries! - available in the restaurant/lounge all day. Breakfast was good. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful but beware of accepting their weather forecasts! From the airport, the easiest way to reach the hotel is via the Metro to Norreport station. From there the hotel is about 15 minutes walk - easier, with luggage, to take a taxi. Nyhaven and other city centre attractions (including the Royal Palace which is open to visitors at the moment) are about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.
