“Stil Charming old style”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

The first time I spend my holiday in Copenhagen I choose Hotel Opera. These year I selected Hotel Opera again. The charming old style it's still there. I love it. The breakfast is still very good and also the services and the staff.
Next time certaly I'll choose Hotel Opera again.

The quality of the bread for breakfast was terrible. Book without breakfast and get it somewhere else.

We had a great week in Copenhagen, We were aware that hotel rooms in Copenhagen would be smaller than what we are used to in North America so we booked a "tourist double" which meant that the room would be slightly larger than a regular double room and would have a queen sized bed. We also wanted our own shower and toilet.

We were arriving mid-week and it appeared that the hotel was fully booked. I'm fairly certain that the room we got was not a "tourist double" since it did not have a queen sized bed and the room itself was tiny. We were concerned that we would not be comfortable in this room especially since we were spending 7 nights at the hotel.

I informed the staff at the front desk of our concerns and asked if there was any possibility that we could have an upgrade. Since the hotel was full at the time, we were told that something could be done but only for the last 3 nights of our stay. The hotel was in an excellent location so we decided to stay and wait for better accommodations.

We were not disappointed! Halfway through pour stay we were able to move into a full suite with plenty of room which helped us make the most of our trip. As an added bonus, the upgrade was offered to us at no extra charge.

A very warm thank you to Anna H. and all the staff at the Opera Hotel. They were wonderful. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Copenhagen, a very positive experience.

Hard to find, but we loved it...on a quiet back street behind the National Theatre just around the corner from a bus and metro stop. Helpful staff and great breakfast. The room was small yet comfortable. Perfect for 2 of us with little luggage and no desires for a modern high-rise cookier cutter chain hotel.

The Hotel Operas location is just more than perfect if you are visiting Copenhagen!
3min walk from the Metro (airport line), and 3 more minutes to Nyhavn! And for the price we paid, it is a really good choice!
If you stay here AND like to see a city by foot (no use of metro or bus), then this is your hotel!

The Hotel (all part) is really oldish, the rooms are quite small and truly needs a renovation... But who cares? You are here to visit the city, walk around, and only to sleep and have a breakfast at the hotel!
(Ok a comfortable bed would be great after those long walks in the city, but we were tired enough not to care :D)

Ohh, almost forget: Very nice and friendly staff there!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Opera July 15 to 18 before boarding a cruise ship. This hotel is situated on a quiet street not far from the Stroget and Nyhavn. There is a small grocery store around the corner. The reception staff is fantastic. We used their talents and advice repeatedly. No charge for internet, via a computer off the lobby. Breakfast was sumptuous. Hop On Hop off bus is a couple blocks away. Tivoli is a ways south, but accessible in about 15 to 20 minutes walking. Hotel Opera is part of an 11 hotel chain all located in Copenhagen so you can choose your location and price range. Rooms tidy and compact and prices are reasonable. We would stay there again.

The location of the Opera was good, out of the hustle and bustle, but a close walk to it.

PROS:
(1) Good breakfast buffet: meats, cheeses, cereals, very fresh fruit, lots of pastries & breads.
(2) Staff was extremely helpful when discussing restaurants, directions, etc.
(3) Convinent to metro, less than 10 stops from the airport and then an 8 minute walk to the hotel.

CONS:
(1) Breakfast room is cramped, go early.
(2) No A/C. The windows open all the way and it's easy to let in cooler air. But overnight it is not practical to leave them open due to street noise. We had a room on the courtyard and there was loud music, talking and friends of ours overlooked the street and had the same complaints.
