“Average Business Hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in this hotel recently for one night on business travel. Unfortunately this is more like the "chain" hotels of the world, rather than other hotels in Copenhagen that have more character.

Although free wireless Internet and a clean room/bathroom, the hotel lacks any other character. The building is large and the check-in procedure tends to be very slow. The rooms are tastefully decorated and airy. Air-conditioning is an issue in the rooms, could not figure out how to make the room cooler, despite playing around with the thermostat.

Watch out for the cost of a small beer in the hotel lobby bar, ouch! The are better hotels in Copenhagen at similar prices.

This large anonymous business hotel (& casino) has all the facilities you need and zero charm. The Japanese restaurant there is very good. The gym (a commercial) one is very tired with no water fountain (!?) but is perfectly usable. If you need a taxi at 0830, book one regardless of what the staff tell you - or you're in for a 15 minute wait!

We stayed our first 3 nites here, from 16 May '13. We upgraded the room upon arriving at the hotel in the morning, to include breakfast, to have immediate check-in and to get a business class twin share room with a view. We got 2628 on the 26th floor. We felt it was worth it for the view n we enjoyed our daily breakfast buffet. Overall, the majority of the staff at the hotel were polite n friendly n that includes the housekeeping staff. The only hitch was a particular evening when we returned and the card keys did not work. Having walked the whole day, we were tired and had to walk up n down 3 times to inform the reception that the card keys did not work. The first time we were told that perhaps we had kept the card keys too close to our mobile phones. Subsequently , my fren lost her cool at the reception as she was tired at the end of the day. It turned out that the battery of the door lock sensor had gone flat n needed to be replaced. The staff came to change promptly though the first time he came , he forgot to bring some gadget n had to come up a second time. But he did return fast n we were ok with it. Not much delay to our settling-in for the night. The room we stayed in had a good view n we really love it. Overall, i will still recommend this hotel. We walked from the hotel to Christianhavn and Christiana. It was so near ! In fact, once i walked from the city center back to the hotel.

I think this Hotel could be so much more. It's not bad, far from it, but it culd be better. A mini suite with hardley any hanging space and NO drawers? I dont expect to pay for a mini suite and live out of a suitcase? The thermostats did not work so we couldn't cool the room down, so ended up sleeping on top of the quilt. The door on the bathroom is rotting due to the stupid glass shower screen. The shower head fell apart twice (I had to repair it) . The worse part was the cleaners, not actually interested. The safe in our room was locked, because it was full of empty beer bottles, the floor around the safe was sticky, throuout the whole of our stay, we had galsses removed from our room, raher than actually clean them and a hoste of dubious stains in the carpets and curtains?? even the outside bins were not emptied all weekend. There is very little tourist information about the area we were staying in, apart from a looped advert on the TV which assumed you knew all about the subway (which didn't run at the weekends anyway) and knew the city. I found it hard to understand why they tried to charge entry into the Casino for residents as well, lost captive revenue there as we looked at it, saw we had to pay an entry fee and turned around.

That being said, the front of house staff seemed eager to help and were happy enough with our enquiry's, thebreakfast menu is OK and the bar/restuarant staff were always good for a chat and a laugh. Like I said, it's a shame as this Hotel has so much potential just needs to be cleaned a bit and have a bit of a makeover. Thelocation is perfect, just outside of the centr, but close enough to walk into the centre, or you can hire one of the hotels bikes.

Room Tip: Ak fr a room facing the city, unless you like a view of a petrol station and a motorway, industrial...

I was mistakenly booked into the Radisson Blu Royal Copenhagen (City Centre) but didn't realise this until trying to check in here, there were only 2 reception staff on duty at 5pm when i tried to check in but the delightful young lady had my booking transferred and all was well.
The room was fine, 13th floor i think, great views and plenty of space.
Had a drink in the bar in the evening, very busy and a big TV showing football.
Breakfast was great with huge selection. Checkout was a long queue but the reception staff processed everyone quickly so the wait was less than 10 mins.
Would certainly stay here again as it is convenient for the airport/offices but you do need a taxi to get into City Centre.

This is a good hotel for the price. The breakfast spread is huge. The rooms are clean and mostly quiet on the upper floors. The problem is it's away from the center of the city. You can take the 5A bus from Central station for 10-15 minutes and you will be dropped off at the hotel.

There is a beautiful park across the street and Chritiania is about 10-15 minutes walk. The place could use some upgrades, but for what you pay, it's pretty good.

Room Tip: Try to get as high up as possible. There is a busy road next to the hotel.
