Owner description: The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

“Beautiful castle and gardens”
Reviewed August 20, 2014

This was my first stop in Copenhagen and it got my visit off on the right foot. I did not go into the castle but did go on a stroll through the lush gardens, around the moat, and through the private rose gardens. Beautiful and relaxing.

“Lucky to get in.”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

I heard about the tapestries in the Castle and was lucky enough to see all of them. Such vibrant work. The Royal Family was on holiday. The art workin the Castle was interesting and the structure itself was impressive.

“See how it was”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

A throwback to bygone centuries, the place has the feeling that the royals just walked off one day and left the entire place to those who visit This place has a genuine sense of authenticity and a strong sense of "so this is how it was."

“Royal castle, crown jewels and pretty gardens.”
Reviewed August 19, 2014

Lots of interesting rooms to visit in the castle with glorious clocks, furniture, art works, even water closets! The narwhal throne guarded by silver lions is particularly impressive and that's all before you go to the treasury to view the crown jewels. You are positively encouraged to take photos and you can spend as long as you like looking at the crowns and royal jewellry. The gardens are lovely too.
