Owner description: The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

Rosenborg Castle is a great place, espeically if you are interested in danish history and the royal family. It does cost a little, but it is worth the price.

“Lovely castle, grounds and crown jewels”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We really enjoyed going round Rosenborg Slot, especially seeing the crown jewels. Every bit as good as the Tower of London, just without the crowds. Mind that you will have to leave bags in a locker. The moat is very pretty and the adjoining Royal Gardens are nice for a stroll.

“Castle & crown jewels”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Set in a beautiful park, this castle is well worth a visit. The changing of the guard takes place here every day between this castle & Amelianborg. The royal jewels and crowns are well worth a visit as well. Recommended.

“Beautiful Castle and Gardens”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

The castle is an easy walk from central Stockholm. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the crown Jewell display in the basement is spectacular. A good glimpse into the life of the Swedish Royals in a manageable setting. The castle is "homey" in a way and does not overwhelm the senses like some other similar sites in Europe. This would be a good castle visit for families with young children.
