Owner description: The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

As it had been snowing it was a picture perfect castle in the snow. Great photograph opportunity and great from all angles. Take yor camera and snap on. You wont be disappointed.

A great way to learn about the History of the country, very well laid out, interesting and crossing so many generations, an insight to life gone by. Very good value for the money. And you may time it to catch a glimpse of the Changing of the guard walk..well worth waiting for.

One of the highlights of the entire week in Copenhagen for me. Illustrates best of Denmark's illustrious royal heritage. Was a bit surprised this palace was not used more often for formal State occasions.

The best bit for us was the crown jewells and the thrones. The castle does have lots of fascinating artifacts but its not for everyone. The moat is pretty cool and was frozen while we were there. The day we left it snowed and we went back to the castle and took some amazing pics

A great way to get to know the Danish royal family through their jewels and tapestries. Be aware there are lots of stairs to climb
