Owner description: The beautiful 400-year-old castle is situated in central Copenhagen's popular park, The King's Garden. The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV. Today, the glory of the past can be experienced through the numerous art treasures of the previous kings and queens. Among the main attractions is the Great Hall with the coronation thrones and three life-size silver lions standing guard. The crown jewels and royal regalia sparkle behind the thick walls of the treasury beneath the castle.

We are usually "castled out" while on holiday but decided to visit this one. Very unusual in that it houses authentic artifacts, furniture chronicling various kingly reigns. Houses the crown jewels which are spectacular. Gardens are neatly manicured with topiary and a trellised garden room too. Not to be missed. Very well done and not to massive to tour.

Interesting exhibits, most have audio commentaries accessible using QR scanner. The visit is not complete without the treasure room in the basement. It requires an additional fee. The ticket line was a little slow and the lockers were a little small. Keep in mind that bags beyond a certain size have to be stored in the rented lockers.

Great way to spend a few hours in Copenhagen. Lots of history, beautiful gardens surrounding the castle. This was a great place to take pictures.

This is no Windsor Castle, but mildly entertaining if you have a few hours to kill. The crown jewels are located here and quite interesting, plus all the other artifacts. It's not a huge place, so you sort of go through fairly quickly.

Real antiques of Danish Royals on display. Every room is full of wonders and its a treat to watch how the Royal family lived. It is better to go to early or late if your not with a group as the queue for tickets can be quite long. The surrounding garden is really beautiful, specially on a bright day. The Rose garden has some exotic colored roses.
