Decided to climb the dome of the church and was the first in line at the payment desk. The guides only let people up Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3pm for 25K for adults 10K for children.
The climb isn't the most arduous though it does take it out of you if you aren't reasonably fit. There are areas where you can stop and rest if you feel too winded. Once at the top, you're at the top of the lantern with a panoramic view of the city. You can see the Opera House, the towers of Tivoli, Carlsberg Brewery, Frederiksborg Palace and City Hall to name a few.
There isn't a protective metal mesh screen above the guardrail on the edge like on some observation decks in Europe so those with a fear of heights may find it unnerving.
For the effort involved, the payoff is well worth it.
