Owner description: Large marble Baroque church which stood unfinished from 1770 to 1874. It was finally finished in 1894.

Decided to climb the dome of the church and was the first in line at the payment desk. The guides only let people up Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3pm for 25K for adults 10K for children.
The climb isn't the most arduous though it does take it out of you if you aren't reasonably fit. There are areas where you can stop and rest if you feel too winded. Once at the top, you're at the top of the lantern with a panoramic view of the city. You can see the Opera House, the towers of Tivoli, Carlsberg Brewery, Frederiksborg Palace and City Hall to name a few.
There isn't a protective metal mesh screen above the guardrail on the edge like on some observation decks in Europe so those with a fear of heights may find it unnerving.
For the effort involved, the payoff is well worth it.

This church is very impressive on the outside and has an incredibly beautiful interior as well, the dome is spectacular! No entrance fee. Definitely worth a visit!

Brilliant view from Amalienborg so head towards there for a good picture opportunity. As far as churchs go, this is pretty spectacular.

We stopped in unexpectedly, as it was quite chilly and needed to warm up. The building is very nice outside, but once you walk through the doors it is breathtaking. We were not expecting the interior to be so grand, the dome is fantastic. They ask for complete silence inside, so we just sat in awe of the architecture and designs. Unfortunately we were not there at a time to go up the dome, but I'm sure it would be fantastic. I have been in a lot of churches throughout Europe, and this one definitely ranks high on the list. It was a very unexpected surprise.

Wonderful paintings of the saints seen from the inside looking up at the dome. But the steps & ramp are very steep.
