“Expensive clothes and gimmicky food/bars”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

The Stroget is what damn near every city in the world strives to build... a lot of trendy label stores with the overpriced restaurants and bars that come with them. Easy tax revenue to keep the rest of the city running. So if you flew to Copenhagen because the Dior in your city/country didn't have the sunglasses you were looking for.... well then stop here and find the exact same items. But seriously, if your city doesn't have a trendy avenue, then worry. Because you're on your way to becoming Detroit.

“A main street like any other.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

I don't understand the attraction of this type of shopping street. It's actually just like any other main street in any other major European city.
All the same chain stored, all the same brands, ranging from the cheap and cheesy on the western end, to the expensive and snobby on the eastern end of the street.
Copenhagen is VERY expensive so there is no way it can be recommended as a shopping destination anyway.
The only stores worth visiting in my opinion are Illums Bolinghus for home deco and housewares, Georg Jensen for silver and Ole Lyngaard (in a side street) for jewellery.
Bring a load of €€€.

“Shopping heaven in Copenhagen!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

If you need retail therapy or just somewhere to window shop, this is the place! Labelled as "the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe" this is quite easy to believe. It isn't just one long route either as it winds through some narrow parts of the city and then opens out in a square or two with lovely architecture. Given it appears to have nearly every brand available it is very busy so a careful eye on your property should be employed. I didn't have an issues when there but the number of people with open bags over their shoulders hinted that those with light fingers would no doubt be around. As with all shopping streets, there was a huge choice of refreshments from walk-along snacks to sit down restaurants. It also makes a very nice wandering route back through the city.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2013 via mobile

This one big street is fantastic for any shopping bargainestas! I found loads of bargains in the street and inside the shops, I love all the clothes that was displayed outside the shops, even though it was cold but it was a great place to start to visit the tivoli.
