A must see, if you are visiting Copenhagen! Very nice to stroll and take in the atmosphere or just sit in one of the cafés on the street and look at people walking by!

I have lived in Copenhagen for a year and this street is the major shopping area in Copenhagen which I frequent often. The end closer to Nyhavn is the high end designers shops. I normally bring friends that have come to visit here, after seeing Nyhavn, finding somewhere on the streets parallel to Stroget for lunch and then continue along to Tivoli.

Stroget is a street you have to go to while in Copenhagen. Always packed with people, many stores in all price categories and places to eat and drink.

One of our favorite family activity is to watch street performers and we loved the ones we saw here. Copenhagen seems to attract real talent. We went in July, rented bikes and had the best time. Although the main shopping streets are pedestrian zones and very busy with pedestrians, we were able to park our bikes close to the main streets and walk. The flagship Lego store is a must see but don' raise your expectations too high. We did not spend our time shopping, we preferred to be outside.

Stroget is a lovely pedestrian shopping lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. There are also side streets that branch off Stroget itself that are filled with interesting finds. You can easily spend several hours strolling along this boulevard. There are a lot of stores ranging from the affordable to the high-end. Merchandise ranges from clothes to shoes to electronics. There are also a couple of malls in the area, Galeria du Nord and Ilium. Cafes and bakeries also abound, allowing you to rest your feet and catch your breath during your shopping spree. If shopping is not your cup of tea, Stroget is still worth a visit because of its charming cobblestone streets and lovely architecture of the buildings along it. There is also a free public underground toilet in the middle of Stroget, and it's clean and well-maintained. This is a welcome change from several other countries in Europe that charge an arm and a leg just to use the bathroom.
