Christmas market is fab. Son et Lumiere show by the lake in the evening should not be missed. It is very convenient to be able to go back to the park for a small re-entry charge (it needs to be purchased before leaving the park though).

Visited the gardens as part of a short trip to Copenhagen in early December. The entry price was 95 krona but if you pay another 15 krona you can re-enter the park later in the day (but remember to get a stamp before you leave as proof of extra payment is not enough to guarantee re-entry).

We visited when the park opened at 11am to have a look around, visit the market stalls etc and familiarise ourselves with the layout before returning at 6pm for the first of the illumination display, which take place hourly, on the hour, until late in the evening.

The gardens were decorated throughout with the entrance area the most scenic and attractive. The website suggests there are 50 market stalls but when we visited my estimate was a maximum of 20, and a number of these were repetitive, ie selling the same brand of products. There were plenty of places to eat and drink though and a welcome touch were the open BBQ style fires around the Park. It was very cold and wet when we visited, so the opportunity to warm our hands and bodies was much needed. It was also very windy and we didnt see many rides in operation, albit more of a disappointment for families with children or teenagers than us.

We revisited for the illuminations, it was so cold, wet and windy that it had rather lost its appeal but because we had paid we decided we ought to go.

I am sure on a better day we would have been more appreciative but my advice would be only to spend the money if the weather is good and you are going to make the most of the rides and entertainment on offer (check what is running before you visit). Also bear in mind that there are extra fees for most rides - its not a cheap option!

This was a theme park i always wanted to visit...so this December we decided to visit Copenhagen and spend a day at Tivoli..we booked a deal with our hotel (Tivoli Hotel and Congress0 which included admission, our rides, dinner, and a builder bear bag for the kids.
We went on a Saturday afternoon about 3pm as we found out the park opens at 11am how ever most of the rides don't start till 2pm...the place was busy however the ques for the attractions moved quickly. the older kids enjoyed the rollercoasters and there was rides for our youngest who is five aswell.
we met Santa however they try to get you to have your photo taken with him for about 10euros...
the one problem we had with the park was when we tried to use the food vouchers...one place we qued for half an hour with out movement to get into the place...an italian resturant we were told to come back at 8pm..we were there at 530pm..the place was empty...eventually we got into a pizza place after another half hour que....we didint have to pay but we worked out for two kids pasta and three adult pizzas it would have come to 100 euros plus drinks...
the christmas markets were also expensive..10 euros for a ballble..
the kids enjoyed it as did i....however we've been and seen but might never go back...

Went for Christmas market. The gardens include amusement park rides and therefore attract a hefty entry fee even if you don't use the rides (which suspect carry a further charge - we didn't go on them). The market is scattered around the park and pretty but expensive and without that many stalls. It might be a fun option if you took advantage of the rides or had a group together but for a couple looking to do some serious Christmas shopping/snacking it was limited. The rides are the real deal though not just playground fare. The park stays open late and for the Christmas experience really needs to be seen at night... however, it gets quite crowded at night and there are long queues for tickets. Recommend getting a ticket in the afternoon and doing the shopping and then getting a stamp to re-enter at night for the lights and a drink or two.

I did love it. Unfortunately didnt expend a lot of time in there. But still, i recommend it. there is a lot of places to eat, amusements of all kind and at night it´s just great to see the shops nicely decorated with those beautiful lights. Now in christmas it´s jut incredible!
