STAY Copenhagen
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We stayed in a penthouse apartment. It was lovely but only really equipped for a few days stay. There is a dishwasher, tablets and a washing brush and a tea towel but you have to buy your own washing up liquid if you just want to clean a glass or cup and no where to put the wet crockery so it quickly starts to look like a mess.

The chairs around the large dinning room table and single seaters around the coffee table are uncomfortable if you sit on them for longer than 2 minutes. A decent amount of shelving space in the bedrooms but not many hangers for the wardrobe.

The bathroom/ wetroom was a bit of a problem. The non ensuite bathroom had a shower next to the door and the water went all over the bathroom as it bounced off you and because the showerhead sticks out of the water quite a bit. The water from the shower also flowed out of the bottom of the door so there was quite a bit of mopping after each shower. The sink was a tiny rectangle and was shoved under/ next to the only 2 hangers in the bathroom where the towels are put (this also meant there was nowhere to put clothes when you shower) it meant it was difficult to wash you face and was messy as water splashed on to the floor often. There were a host of other problems with the functionality of the bathroom derived from trying to be so minimal it wasn't practical.

The apartments were about a 20 minute walk from central Copenhagen and about a 40 minute walk from the Nyhavn. The local area is being redeveloped and there is a nice grocery store, bakery and sushi restaurant on the ground floor of the apartments.

All in all a lovely place to stay and the apartments are great spaces but not practical interior wise or distance from central sites. I probably wouldn't stay there again if I went to Copenhagen but I did like the short (if sometimes frustrating) stay in a Scandinavian design concept.

This is a great hotel / apartment building. 4 of us stayed and chose to upgrade upon arrival to the top floor penthouse. This gave us two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining table, lounge area and kitchen island.

The room was really impressive, stark white and black colours with a total focus on the look of the room. The room was also relatively well looked after and was spotless.

The kitchen is not just there for show. It's fully equiped with toaster, kettle, washing machine, oven grill and most utensils you'd need to cook a meal. Washing cloths and dishwasher tablets were also provided so we kept it nice and clean but we needed to buy washing up liquid from the supermarket downstairs...

Speaking of which... there is a lovely, good quality mini supermarket downstairs in the same building. This was not cheap but offered good quality goods and was obviously very convenient. We saved a lot of money cooking breakfast most days.

Also on site was a sushi restaurant which we tried one night because we were given a coupon for free drinks when we checked in. This place served good quality food for an average price but was SO quiet. It was a shame as we felt a bit bad for the staff! It lacked a bit atmosphere.

Finally, there's a fantastic coffee shop in the complex too which we tried one morning. Fab coffee, lovely cakes, brilliant service but again, we were the ONLY people there.

We think everything was so quiet because this place is just a tiny bit too far out of the centre of town sadly. It's a good 15-20 minute walk. I was hoping from other reviews that it was only 10 minutes but it's not. This walk was not too much, but it was something we had to factor into our day and once or twice we just got a taxi. It's really the main downside. The area on the walk to the hotel is fine and its mostly through modern apartment buildings. There's a bit of a dodgy old building next to the hotel on one side which is a shame, but we all agreed that it would be gone in a few months.

We're so glad we stayed here, and as a group of 4 we wanted to all be in the same room and there were not a lot of options in Copenhagen to do this. It's actually a great price for the size and quality of the room. We felt like it was a great treat to stay here. But I just caution that you be aware of the slight walk to the town centre.

Room Tip: Ask about upgrades when you check in. We got a decent price for an upgrade. Way cheaper than it woul...

I am leaving in Stay for the last 6 months while working in Copenhagen.
The building and localization is really good, but they should improve the customer care.
The daly/weekly cleaning some times could be better!
But is a nice place to stay.

Staying at STAY was an unique experience. The apartments are very spacious and comfortable. Decked out in traditional Danish minimalist style and very clean. The location is away from the city center, but a subway stop is close by as well as a boat stop. There is a nice bakery for a breakfast alternative, a small market for buying lunch stuff, and a few nice restaurants within one block. Otherwise, it is a bit isolated. The service was fine and the hotel was clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again with the family if we came back to Copenhagen.

Absolutely love the large loft room that I had booked, was a perfect uber-cool home away from home... the kitchen has everything you need, a decent sized bathroom, even a utilities room with a washer-dryer..... plus a large living space with a nice plasma TV, comfortable couches...

There's a great little organic supermarket around the corner, which I used, and I very much liked the cafe next door as well.

Only two small defects- seeing as I was cooking in the kitchen it would have been good if the fan was working and the pillows & duvet covers were made of synthetic fiber which was hot & felt a bit "cheap" compared to the rest of the room.

Overall I highly recommend staying here - this has been the best (high) value for money stay in Copenhagen ever for me, even if it is not centrally located.

Room Tip: I took a loft which was huge just for myself, others may not need such a large apace

Stayed here for a short time, and i hope I never returns! The location is the only possitive thing. Service really bad, cleaning the rooms? What cleaning?

Some of the staff was very negative and unhelpful
