“Great hotel with excellent service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

We stayed here for one night on New Year's Eve. The service was excellent and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were great! We also liked the coffeemakingfacilities. It's close to a metro so it's easy to get into town. We had our car so we needed parking and the only downside to this hotel was that you had to pay for parking. Breakfast was also expensive (175dkr) so we had breakfast elsewhere. The location was good for us and we would stay here again!

I stayed here for business in January. It was top notch. New and clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. The only minus is that the pillows could have been a little bigger. Small issue. I recommend this for business and pleasure. I paid 1300 Dkk for the room and definitely worth it. ALso, WIFI was complementary.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend on the weekend of the 19th January. The room was a good size and very comfortable. My wife loved the bed! We can not fault the room. The staff were delightful and very helpful. This was also our experience with all of the "locals". The food was excellent both in the hotel and in the city itself. Prior to travelling, we were apprehensive about the fact that the hotel was located outside the city centre. Whilst this was an inconvenience, it only turned out too be a minor one. The metro is a short walk away from the hotel, runs to and from the centre with regular frequency and is cheap to use. Just a small tip - do purchase tickets for the metro from the concierge at the hotel because it works out much cheaper to do so. The fact that we were collected from (and taken back to) the airport was an added bonus and easy to use. We only have 3 minor criticisms. Firstly, the weather, it was extremely cold (minus 16 when we arrived)and if we go again, will go in the spring/summer months. If you do go at this time make sure that you get well wrapped up in several layers of warm clothes! Secondly, the location of the hotel, as previously indicated, was a minor inconvenience; and thirdly, we did find both the hotel and Copenhagen very expensive. Almost 20 pounds for a burger in the hotel and 50 pounds for 2 lots of fish and chips in the City. Having said that, I suppose you do expect to pay more in any city. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend despite the minor inconveniences mentioned.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors have excellent views.

This is a great, modern hotel with excellent service, good rooms and lovely breakfast. It is right next door to a metro stop/train station so it is super easy to get to from the airport and takes no time at all to get into the city. For the money you save it is well worth being away from the centre. The only reason it hasn't got 5 stars is because the room had no ventilation and so was very stuffy at night.

My partner and I stayed here for just under a week in early January, after much difficulty in deciding where to stay in Copenhagen. However, after seeing an offer through a third-party, we elected to stay at the Crown Plaza at what was a very competitive rate for notoriously over-priced Copenhagen. We made a great decision.

The trip started smoothly, I had visited the hotel website and downloaded an airport map which directed us to the ipad in the airport in which, after a few presses, a private car was ordered. This turned up within 10 minutes and the concierge was extremely polite, helpful and, of course, spoke exceptional English.

The hotel itself is only 8 minutes drive from the airport with the Crown Plaza logo visible from a distance. Inside the hotel, there are all sorts of gadgets and gizmos which promote environmental sustainability with automatic lighting, solar heating and toiletries made from potatoes! We were on the 16th floor in a well-sized double room. The beds were comfortable, the room temperature controlled by air-conditioning and the room was clean.

Breakfast was not included in our rate and we considered it a bit pricey at c170Kr per person and therefore elected to buy some pastries in the morning from the nearby Field's Mall (3 minutes walk from the hotel and with a supermarket and many western shops). Despite reading complaints about the hotel's location, it is in fact very simple and quick to travel into town. There are two lines: the metro and the main line (we went to Helsingor to see Kronberg straight from the latter) and you can reach either Kongens (near the Stroget) or Tivoli within 10 minutes, and they also run throughout the night. Helpfully, the hotel provides metro tickets at a discounted rate at reception, so you have to simply pick them up on the way out and remember to stamp them at the station.

We choose to have breakfast one day using vouchers we had collected for opting not to have our room cleaned on some days (you receive a 75Kr voucher to spend on hotel provisions). It was of reasonable standard, and substantial in amount, without being spectacular. We didn't use any of the fitness or dining facilities so I can not comment on this.

I must highlight how helpful the staff were in providing information, and, despite the hotel having many business customers, the service didn't feel at all impersonal. Overall, if you can tolerate a quick 10 minute journey into town, wish to stay in a safe, comfortable location in a modern hotel which provides exceptional value for money then I suggest the Crown Plaza is your first point of call. I would definitely stay there again if I returned to Copenhagen.

Hotel is close to Kastrup airport. Hotel offers free shuttle to airport and from airport to the hotel. Close to hotel is also metro station and big shopping mall. I enjoyed the club lounge, which is in my opinion one of the best Crowne Plaza club lounges in Europe. Especially I liked evening snacks.

This hotel was great for the day we spent in Copenhagen. It's brand new but it seems as though it's totally empty...it was almost a little creepy considering the modernist design. More of a funny observation than a complaint. It's a little outside of town, but it is near a nice big mall and the train is very convenient. The rooms are lovely and very spacious and the whole Solar Pannel thing is very very cool! Also, get the breakfast in the lobby as it is very good and can easily feed 2 based on the enormous portions they gave. The staff are all very attentive and welcoming. Overall an excellent stay!

Room Tip: Try and get a higher floor facing the airport/ocean. The view is spectacular.
