“Great place to stay for a weekend exploring Copenhagen”
Reviewed March 9, 2011

The hotel was modern and clean and although the rooms were small, they provided everything you need (for a short break). The hotel is well located being only a 10-15 minute walk to the city and all the main attractions. The only thing I would mention is don't expect too much from the breakfast. It is very simple, continental style and does the trick but nothing to write home about. Overall great value for money in a very expensive city.

Booked flight and 3 night stay at Wakeup Copenhagen at a local Co Op travel agency. When got to hotel reception gave them the booking paper confirmation. All was went well till our last night. Credit card key would not give us access to our room. Went to reception was told had only paid for 2 nights not 3. Told to book on hotel internet or pay 150 Kroner excess if done by reception. Got my credit card out and said take what you want from this for one more nights stay but will give you hell when I return to England. He just gave up. Said was a mistake. Given access to our room again. Had to return to reception to ask for our room to be made up (rooms have no phone). Hard to believe was a mistake!

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights.

Checking in at the hotel is a smooth, easy process - just use one of the check-in terminals like at an airport. I actually really liked this way of going about checking in and wish more places had the terminals.

The rooms were brand new, clean and comfortable - if a tad small. The fitout of the hotel is pretty new and the bed was very comfortable indeed. Breakfast was really high quality and great value for Copenhagen.

This Hotel is really good at the price.
Almost new, comfy beds, nice furniture etc.
Rooms are average sized compared to many other places (London, Paris), but quite good. Nice, clean rooms, good bed. Funny that the bathroom is made in a (frosted) glass, so you can somewhat see when another person is in the shower :)

The Breakfast was great, lots to choose from and the staff was friendly. No noise, even though the hotel is quite close to the railways.

Other good things: close to the city center and the Railway station in Copenhagen,

Stayed at this hotel for the recent Denmark V England football match and was very impressed.
The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. The reception is very well run and the staff very polite and efficent.
The rooms are small but adequate and again very clean and modern. They have wooden floors (I did miss not having a carpet) and a small toilet, sink and shower cubicle. They is no bath but the shower is very powerful and water remains hot.
The rooms have a large flat screen TV with around a choice of 15-20 channels of which 4 or 5 are in English. I was travelling alone so had a single room which was very strange as it had a double bed but with only one pillow and a single duvet. However extra pillows and duvet are stored in draw under the bed.
Beds are soft and sleep quality is good. Be aware tthat here is building works going on around the hotel as the area is being developed still. However sleep was not disturbed in any way.
The hotel does a continental breakfast for 60Kroner which was okay so long as you like cereal, breads and ham and cheese. There is no bacon or eggs on offer.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Central Copenhagen Train Station and the start of all the main sites.
I would recommend the hotel for soo travellers, couples, families and business trips.
It was free high speed wifi in all rooms and it also has a buisness centre with free use of computers.
I will stay here in the future.

The WakeUp is a very modern hotel located near the Central Station and Tivoli. It's maybe a 20-minute walk from Rådhusplads and there's a very convenient bus stop right outside for the 11A, which takes a winding route to Nyhavn via several key sights.

The hotel staff are friendly and efficient and there were no problems checking in or getting anything done. The room is not huge - about the size of an average Ibis - but they are well laid out and very clean. There is a big TV with international channels (though English-language programmes in Denmark, Sweden & Norway are subtitled, not dubbed) and - bonus - free wifi.

The bathroom area is compact but the shower is good and the glass surround is actually frosted - it may not look like that in photos, but it is NOT see-through :)

it's not a cheap hotel but it's not bad by Copenhagen standards and there are deals to be had - I got 3 nights B&B for about half the rack rate via an online agent.

This is very nice hotel situated in the city center of Copenhagen, near the bus stop. I recommend it for all who want to visit Copenhagen. Rooms are clean and modern. This hotel is quite new. Rooms are small but comfortable. They have bathroom with shower inside, plasma TV, big bed and desk. Good thing is that you will have free Internet in your room.If you want you can eat breakfast in restaurant but it isn't included in basic price. Prices are really good especially if you find a promotion.
