“OK, this was just plain fun!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Small! You bet your thimble! If you are more than one person, or looking for a long stay, find somewhere else. But if you are alone, or a couple just looking for one night, you need to stay here just to say you did. I doubt is the room is more than 7 feet wide. But it was immaculately clean, extremely modern and just plain fun. Don't stay here with a lot of luggage or clothes. Overnight bag only. Located near the train yards and away from the tourist areas.

The rooms are small a bit like a cabin on a ferry perhaps, but very clean.
A request for extra pillows was refused from the staff in reception (We don't have spares?) but willingly complied with by the room staff.
The room was stuffy even with the window open and it was necessary to use the air conditioner at all times.
The bed was comfortable and large enough for two but there is little storage space (once again think ferry cabin).
Wakeup is close to the train station and the excellent Tivoli gardens and made for a good base but it is basic.
A major complaint is the quality of the curtains which are thin and let in the light. If you remember this is northern europe and dawn can be at 0500 or even earlier then yes you do Wakeup!
Overall this hotel is more like an up market hostel but as mentioned earlier is clean and very convenient.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May. The hotel has a convenient location for the central train station and thus onward travel to the airport or sweden. It is a 5 minute walk to the centre where all the bars and shops are and also in close proximity to the Tivoli gardens. The rooms are very small compact and the double beds are only made up for 1 person. If you are sharing you need to fish out the spare bedding in the draw under the bed and make it yourself. The bathroom also has a glass wall where the shower is, which is fine if you're travelling as a couple but can be a bit embarrassing when staying with a friend as they can see most of you when you shower! The facilities otherwise were good and the hotel is clean and friendly.

Nice small room, but the express check-in counters are gone, resulting in loooong queues at the reception. This is not acceptable, when they promise this as an option in your booking (and they had it last time I was here)
Breakfast is not fantastic, but other options are slim, if you're on a tight morning schedule.
Beyond stupid, that you are not able to turn the tv, just 10 degrees, to face the bed - otherwise the rooms are of a good standard.

Room Tip: Facing the railways are of course not great.

Wakeup is a new hotel - in fact Google StreetView for that area shows the hotel being built. The location is about 10-15 minutes walk away from the central station and is easy to find. The area doesn't have anything else nearby apart from the Tivoli Hotel. So buy any snacks, drinks etc from shops at the station before coming to the hotel.

We had a room on the 6th floor which was the top floor of the Standard price and I wouldn't have liked to be much lower because you could hear the noise of the trains all day and night. This wasn't bad but higher floors would be quieter.

As others have noted - the rooms are very small but the bed was comfortable and there was enough room for 2 people and bags etc. The shower and toilet area is tiny too but it's all in good working order and spotlessly clean. It was interesting that the bed was made up as a single and there was a separate duvet and pillow for the 2nd person stowed away in a drawer under the bed. It is as if they know that this is really only a room for 1 person.

Our rate included the breakfast buffet and this was a basic continental breakfast. Very basic. However there was plenty of it. I just wish they'd included a toaster- it would have made all that bread a bit more interesting. In fact we didn't go down for breakfast on the last day - we just couldn't face any more cold ham sandwiches. The breakfast is reasonable value though, considering how expensive it is to eat out in Copenhagen.

I think they have listened to feedback about the self check-in terminals and removed them because there was no sign of them in the reception area while I was there. I checked in with a pleasant receptionist who also doubled as the server for the shop/bar/kiosk area.

This hotel doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is. It's a 2 star hotel that is very clean and not too noisy. The location is OK - but you'll walk a lot if you stay here - all those 15 minute journeys add up. It seems very expensive when you compare the price to other cities but for Copenhagen - it's one of the best priced hotels around.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the trains, elevators and stairs if you can.

This hotel is ok for a short stay in Copenhagen. It is very central and close to the main station and Tivoli. The rooms are small and I did find the room very stuffy but the a/c did help a little bit. My main concern was the lack of any black out blinds and the curtains were pretty useless and let in the light first thing in the morning. The staff were quite friendly and we did mange to get extra pillows after asking for them twice. We did not eat in the hotel as cafe's and bars are close by and more than adequate.

Wakeup is relatively new hotel, with limited services. It is located 15-minute walk from Tivoli, Hard Rock and other restaurants. The hotel has a modern design which reflected on the room also. It is perfect for 1 person, and OK for a couple too. Don't expect many services, this is not a Hilton. The breakfast is OK with limited selection but good quality. Fast free wifi in everywhere.
All in all: recommend for short, business stay.
