Wakeup Copenhagen Carsten Niebuhrs Gade
Ranked #40 of 118 Hotels in Copenhagen
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Wakeup Copenhagen seemed like a modern version of Motel 6. The hotel is in an isolated/industrial neighborhood. The closest amenities are at the train station about 10 minutes walk away. I definitely would not stay here again. Too remote!

Room Tip: Ask for the side away from the train station.

I stayed for one night for business and both myself and my colleagues were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The shower area is within the room but sectioned off and the interior is bright, functional, clean, modern and centrally located for both the train station and the shopping area. The rooms are quite compact, but it did the job for me as I only used the room for sleeping and cleanliness / modern fittings are more important for me. It has-screen TV (which I didn't use), and a rack and hangers to for your clothes. A great hotel feature was that there we're lockers in the basement for your cases, which you could access during the day even after you had checked out. I didn't try the breakfast, but the communal areas were very nice, again with a modern look / feel.

The only issues for both myself and my colleagues, was that the heated flooring in the bathroom area and I couldn't find a temperature switch, which meant the room was very hot. I combatted this by putting the air conditioning on, which wasn't very eco friendly but at least I could sleep comfortably. There wasn't a telephone in the room, so if you wanted anything you would have to go an speak to the staff on reception who were very friendly and helpful. The pillows were on the small side (maybe it's a Danish thing?) and you got a single duvet, but extras were stored under the bed.

This is a good value hotel, which is clean and modern. It does what it says on the tin basically.

Wow! What an amazing budget hotel! This hotel was beautifully clean and fresh. Welcoming from the first moment. Impressive, modern, large lobby area. Plenty of lifts, we never had to wait long for a lift! The room itself was compact but had everything we needed including a very comfortable bed and a wonderfully hot shower (much needed after walking around the city in snowy conditions!!) We didn't try the breakfast as we chose to dine out so I cannot comment on that! Location-wise fantastic!! Close to the centre and the train station (10min walk), just across the road from the river and 5 mins from a very worth a visit shopping mall!!! Only downside was that we arrived at 12pm and couldn't check in til 3pm BUT there were big locker rooms downstairs where u could store your luggage and go off exploring without a worry! Lockers cost a non-refundable 20dkk. All good well worth a visit, would definitely stay there again if we went back!!!

Room Tip: Take a 20dkk coin on first day so u can store your luggage in the locker if arriving before check-in...

This is my first stay at Wakeup Copenhagen. Pros: It's cheap, the value for money is higher than some of the other discount hotels near by, the room is clean, its new, modern, the view is very good from the 11th floor, the Wifi is free and it works, the breakfast is cheap and actually pretty ok. Cons: The noise from the railroad station is significant, when having a room facing it. The other side of the building might be better?
Will I use Wakeup Copenhagen when I need sleep in Cph: Most likely

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the front (the railroad)

For a two star hotel this is a great hotel. The rooms are small but clean and perfect if you just need a place to sleep. It takes 10 min to walk to the hotel from the central train station. The breakfast was good, it was not much to choose from but it had all that matters and everybody should find something they like (if not well then maybe you should not stay at a two star hotel). Right now this is a very good hotel.

If you're looking for somewhere cheap and stable for a trip to Copenhagen I recommend staying here. Basically, if you are young and/or easy going this place is ideal. I was very impressed with the place considering the tiny price paid compared to the other hotels I've stayed in for much more.

Don't expect anything fancy, but the hotel is all brand new, always a good start. You get a nice new television with loads of channels. Bed was fine, covers fine- went in winter and wasn't cold at all. No other furniture really as rooms are very small. Very clean, staff came daily.

WiFi didn't really work well in the room which was a bit annoying... and there was breakfast available but not included in the price I paid. Again, if you're bothered about saving money then you don't really mind about where/when you eat. I had breakfast cereal bars!

Room was small. But why would you stay in your room?!

Ensure you're mobile if you stay here... there's a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest station. However, station wasn't really needed for me. Walked everywhere in Copenhagen, it's a tiny city. Taxi home in the evenings, literally 5-10 minutes from anywhere central. Might be a bit of a creepy desolate walk late at night for women.

Great views from the top floors too. Good value for budget travelers. 100000 times better than a hostel.

Basic, simple hotel near central railway station. But if you seek, you can find something more nice. Room was very cold, but clean and plastic materials seem to be modern.

Breakfast was poor, I reccommend you to go elsewhere to eat at the same price you can find so nice places to get some good coffee and croissants.

Service was not so smiley, I've seen better in cheap hotels, even cheaper than this.
