My friend and I did the hop-on/off bus tour, the canal boat tour and Mike's tour. By far the best was Mike's bike tour. We got into more of the "off the beaten path" places but still saw the main attractions in Copenhagen. Mike knows his city and has lots of good suggestions for restaurants and things to see. The pace was reasonable and the bikes were more than adequate. Plus Mike is a character with a little bit of an edge. Lots of fun

On our second evening in Copenhagen, we did the 7:00PM Evening Tour with Mike. It is roughly a 2.5 hour journey that covers 30 kilometers of "off the beaten path" roads, bikeways, and dirt trails across the widely diverse neighborhoods within the city. Per Mike's instructions written in "The Experience" on his website, there is no talking during the tour. You simply ride and enjoy your own personal experience of Copenhagen. We were able to keep up with Mike's pace (15-20 kph) and thoroughly enjoyed seeing things that the average visitor never sees. The formal tour ends at the beautiful Opera House just before sunset, and the stop there is long enough to see the sun setting behind Amalienborg Palace. Combining Mike's tour with a classic walking or boat tour gave us all the detail we needed to feel "in the know" about this fabulous city.

Mike's bike tour is an excellent way to see the main sights of Copenhagen. Mike is a colourful character and his knowledge of Copenhagen, its sights and history, is extensive. He is a very enthusiastic storyteller - very entertaining! The tour travels through different parts of the city and covers most of the main sights - Hans Christian Anderson's grave, the little mermaid, the royal palaces etc.
I was a bit nervous to start with as I have not had much experience riding a bike but after the tour I felt confident enough to hire a bike for 3 days and explore the rest of the city.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Copenhagen - an excellent way to get your bearings and to get an insight into the history of this truly beautiful city and its very friendly people.

Mike personally takes small groups out across the city to see some pretty spots, including gravesite of Hans Christian Andersen. He does provide colorful commentary about political life and insight into the Danish personality. He lived in the US at some point so his English is quite good. Biking pace is fairly easy and we had teenager as well as older folks (69 years old) in our group. He provides helmet (optional) and decent bike. He also offers to take photos or be in your photo! His small shop is on a side street not far from Tivoli area.

Where do you start when you arrive for a couple of days in a city - look for a bike tour! Mike's highly recommended bike tour lived up to others' recommendations. We found the tour interesting, informative, relaxing and were by no means offended or even challenged by Mike's way of conducting the tour. Frankly Mike's description on his website of his alternative approach should not deter even the most sensitive person - in fact Mike's stories are most interesting and his insight of life in Copenhagen revealing.

Highly recommend you join Mike on his bike tour - you will thoroughly enjoy the experience!
