Unless you like noise and construction do not stay here. The hotel is not complete inside or outside. Construction started before 7 am and noise from bars up the street can be heard far into the night. After rolling our suitcases thru a construction site because there was no road for the taxi to use to get us closer to the hotel we were assured by the receptionist and manager that “they were completely done” and we wouldn’t hear anyone working. While my husband wandered around taking pictures of dozens of workers, I had 3 guys trying to figure out how to make the dimmer switch for the lights in the bar work because right now it is so bright you need sunscreen in there. Hotel workers have told us they won’t finish here for at least another year. Stay elsewhere.

Spent 4 nights there in their first weeks.

The hotel is close to a night club so we got little rest on the Friday and Saturday nights from midnight to 3 am. They claimed to have given out ear plugs. We did not get them and over all earplugs does not seem like a sustainable strategy when running a hotel.

The room was very small, hardly enough space to have an open suitcase. There is no fridge in the room and the only place to sit down is in the window shelve.

The breakfast is a buffet style. The layout was not very convenient, there was only one coffee machine for espresso and latte type drinks. During a busy service they could not keep up with cleaning tables, stocking coffee cups, and the line at the espresso machine was forever. The decor is meet inspired and gives you a teal feeling of being in the butchers shop.

So despite the fact the hotel was not fully ready, the air conditioning was not working, there were people still working on the hotel, and the tv was behaving strangely, the Scandic Kødbyen is too expensive for what it is compared to other Scandic hotels in the city and other hotels in the same area.

Totally not ready for normal operation. Their excuse: “the hotel just opened”. Construction outside and surrounding the perimeter of hotel. When I asked for earplugs this morning, I was told I could go buy it at a store outside as they do not have it. I pointed out that I was woken up at 7am by the construction noise and they said it is not within their control. I understand that as well. However, the noise issue should be anticipated and earplugs should be provided to guests upon request since they are aware of the construction and I as a visitor am completely unaware. Besides, I had already gone out and bought my own Kleenex & bedroom slippers! No air ventilation in the room. Same excuse about the hotel being new! Be prepared to suffocate! No option to adjust air flow in the changed room which took 6 hrs to be fulfilled. Option of opening window is not reasonable if all the construction is just right outside in your face and with all the debris, and construction dust & noise! From 2am - 3am, bathroom emitted a very unpleasant odor, probably from some vents in bathroom which is like toxic sewage or something rotten.

No fridge in the room, although I did request for an empty fridge when I booked my stay with the hotel. I had even emailed the hotel to verify the request had been received. Response was that it was “well received”. Never was told that my room would not have a fridge at all. Had to compromise by chilling my juice which I had bought (while waiting for a room change) in a cooler box and ended up with stomach upset & more.

Breakfast variety is limited and the same every morning. My room reservation includes breakfast... I can’t imagine having to eat the same food for 6 straight days!

A complete disappointment. They had set my expectation so high but had failed miserably. Unfortunately, I had paid for my entire stay upon check-in and do not want to waste more time with hotel issues.

So unless u wish to pay for a roof over your head and a nice new bed to sleep in and that is all u are expecting from a hotel, please be forewarned to stay away.

The “NEW hotel” excuse is getting to be a very lame OLD excuse sooner rather than later.

Great new location! But it’s not really ready though open. Saw lots of unfinished trims and parts all over. Great color palette and design throughout. Biggest issues: no chair of any kind in room and try to avoid the south side on weekends. Disco thumping next door until 3am will give constant complaints. Biggest plus is that it’s only steps from Fermentoren beer bar and a block from Dybbelsbro S train!

Thank you for your review and feedback!
I am happy to hear that you like our location and design. Instead of chairs in our standard rooms we have a seating area in the window. We are located next to one of the most popular areas of Copenhagen, and some guests might find the music during the weekends annoying. In those cases we will do our very best to find another room.

You are very welcome back to us.
Best regards,
Johanna
