“Really good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2012

I agree with most of the other reviewers ... this is a very good hotel.

The welcome we received was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large and comfortable and overlooked the Tivoli Gardens, all decked out in festive lights for the Christmas season.

The bar was nice but very busy and it did seem a little odd to have the bar right next door to some of the rooms.

The breakfast was terrific. A fabulous choice was on offer and the staff were an absolute delight, making sure that everything was just right.

We ate in the hotel's Restaurant Herman on one of the nights. One of the best meals of my life. It was served with perfection, it was playful, it was a feast for the eyes ... and it was delicious.

And yes, I would certainly return here.

I have stayed at most places in Copenhagen. Many bad ones (read SAS). The Marriott is great, but if you are looking for something with more personality and a hint of class, the Nimb is the place for you. Beautiful rooms, well appointed, comfortable and clean. Room service from the great Nimb kitchen is excellent, and a real plus. Service is a tad dysfunctional, this is a small place, not an institutional. All is forgotten given the overall quality of everything. On the border of Tivoli gardens, for that kid in you all.

Nimb Hotel's magic is actually in the "backyard". Yes, the front entrance doesn't seem that spectacular, but once past the front desk, the back of the hotel and it's connection to Tivoli Gardens is magical. White twinkle lights and unique architecture give the place a real unique feel.

Good hotel for both vacation and business with easy access to the train station across the street and bus service.

One of my top 3 favorite hotels in CPK.

Room Tip: North or East facing rooms are the best.

Stayed here for Christmas in a deluxe room, smaller than anticipated but cosy decor with romantic small fireplace, magical view over tivoli and outstanding service. Had room service dinner from Brasseriet, well prepared and presented. Also the in room breakfast, which is a free option, was really delicious..

Fourteen rooms, staff always available, incredible food, service out of this world, private entrance to Tivoli Garden -- I could go on forever. Nimb is a pricy hotel but what you get for your money makes it worth every penny. This may be a Scandinavian thing but I loved when the staff called me by my first name -- no Mr and no Sir. Loved it! If you're a fan of true boutique hotels this is a superb choice in CPH.

I have wanted to stay at The Nimb since it opened, but I have felt that the rooms were a bit pricey, so I doubted that it would be worth it. But, since my preferred hotel in Copenhagen, The Hotel d'Angleterre, is currently closed for renovations, we decided to treat ourselves for the weekend.

Yes, you pay a lot to stay in this place, but compared to the price of other upscale hotels in Copenhagen, what you pay is actually worth it. The general standard of the rooms and interior is in a whole other league than the others. And I like the fact that the hotel is small and has few rooms.

Apart from the beautiful room, and the delicious brunch served every morning from 9 AM to 2 PM (I love being able to sleep in and still not miss out on breakfast!), the BIG selling point of this hotel is the location. We had a room with three windows facing straight into the Tivoli Garden. Nothing can match the close-up view of the garden lit up at night. Priceless.

If I was to pick at some minor details, it was that house keeping did not re-stock our room with the lush Molton Brown bath products on a daily basis. I found that a bit unusual, and it gave a somewhat "cheap" impression, as that is surely not where a hotel in this league should do its cost-cutting. And, finally, being in the centre of "everyting" also means that there will be some noise, at least as long at the Tivoli is open.

Stayed here a few days before a cruise and it was an ideal location for us. The Herman restaurant at the hotel is superb (should be getting their 2nd Michelin star soon) and the Paul Restaurant in Tivoli was fabulous as well. With free in-out priveleges into Tivoli, we were able to watch ballets, classical trios and even a rock concert during the our visit (just a few steps outside the hotel). The access to the various restaurants and the beautiful gardens made for pleasant evenings without having to venture far. We toured greater Copenhagen as well, but found Tivoli and the Nimb a welcome respite to return to. The service was impeccable, breakfast was great (free) and we were given a nice upgrade due to our membership to the Leading Hotels of the World club (free). It was a bit of a splurge, but well worth it for its location.

Room Tip: Hope for a room on the Tivoli side of the hotel.
