“A little gem”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

We are a family with 3 kids (ages 7,5 and 1). We had a great time in beautiful Mon. This b&b has one of the best views in Denmark. The service is very personal. Christine makes the effort to make the place feel like someone's home. We had a few meals at the common lounge. It had lovely views and the kids could run around the massive garden. Christine says she has plans to build a little playground which would makes this place perfect.

Dear HoongG

Thank you for your fine review - and your comments on the view here form Tohoejgaard. It is indeed a fantastic view over the Baltic Sea, especially, since we are situated high above the water, and you can see almost a 180 degree angle - and still there is only a eight minutes walk to the beach.
It was lovely to see your kids enjoying the garden - even your two daughters helped me pulling up some weed - give them my regards. And maybe you will come some day again, and your children can try the new playground - it will be finished by the end of this year.
Best regards Christine

A very warm and kind service we experienced at Tohøjgård.
Excellent homemade food made with love.
The room and the rest of the place, was full of atmosphere and we felt very welcome and a little bit like beeing at home.
The cleaning was actually much better, than we have seen in a lots of hotels before.
The nature and the lovely silence is also fantastic.
We will come back - for sure

Dear Sisnot
Thank you very much for your review here - it's so nice to know, that you appreciated your stay her at Tohoejgaard Bed & Breakfast. The idea of visiting a Bed & Breakfast should exactly be, that you feel a homely and cosy atmosphere, but also get the feeling of being in a hotel with it's comfort and service. I am glad, you had had experience here, and wish you very welcome again, when ever you need a break from the daily fast going daily life.
Best regards Christine

It is with mixed feeling im writing. Because the place itself is so unique , that I wish it could remain a secret. But the owner deserve to be mentioned.
1 hr from copenhagen, and all you hear is the ocean, and birds. The surroundings are sosimple and serene- so peaceful. Im coming back for sure.

Dear Copenhagenyoga

Thank you for your review - even though you would like to keep the place to yourself :-) But I can assure you, it will stay the same: the soothing view over the ocean, the quiet and peacefulness and the heaven filled with stars at night.
I am sad to see, that the sleep quality and service didn't live quite up to your expectations, I would very much like to know, what I can do to improve it for the next time you visit. Please let me know.
Best regards Christine

Despite the weather we really enjoy our stay on Mon Island. We are a family with 2 kids and my little one stated: at Tohoejgaard is betten then a 5 stars hotel. Our room was called "hunter", actually it is a small flat and kids slept in their room. Breakfast in the morning was perfect. We felt at home. Thank you Christine!!!

Dear family

Thank you for your kind review - It was a pleasure having you here, despite the awful winter, that set in so late. Tell you sons, that I am very flattered to have Tohoejgaard Bed and Breakfast compared to a five-star hotel. I don't offer big luxury, private bathrooms, but put an effort in my guests feeling welcome and taken good care of. And I think, that is what matters, when you travel: to enjoy a warm atmosphere, good food and personal attention. I hope to see you here again - come in the summer, where you can go swimming on the beach just seven minutes away. The boys will love that :-)
Best regards
Christine

We decided to visit Møn and the famous chalk cliffs there. Rather than make it a (long) day trip we decided to overnight at a Bed and Breakfast. We had heard of Tojoejgaard before and were happy to finally get to visit. What a wonderful experience. Christine took care of us from the split of Prosecco waiting for us in our room to the delicious meal we shared with the other residents to the great breakfast. We will certainly return and I strongly recommend this as a weekend get away.

Even though were in the grip of a late season snow storm the rooms stayed cozy and warm. The directions on the website took us straight to the door. Wine list with dinner was impressive and not very expensive--a bonus! Coffee and tea in the room kept us warm between meals.

Room Tip: We were in Hunter which has a private bath. Panorama has the best views. All were cozy and comfort...

Dear Kate
Thank you very much for your visit and your review. As you wrote, you certainly came in the middle of a snow storm - a surprise to us all, here on this beautiful island, since I had just proclaimed on my Facebook page the week before, that the lark had arrived, singing and flirting with each other.
But also in winter time Tohoejgaard can offer you good experiences. The area around here is excellent for walking and biking, and then get back to a warm, cosy room, as you did.
I will look forward to seeing you again - in summer time maybe, where you can go for a swim in the Baltic Sea, only seven minutes walk away.
Best regards Christine

We stayed at this fantastic B and B for 2 nights in early September. Great room and comfortable room with an amazing view of the Baltic sea. Christine was a great resource for things to do in the area and provided us with a lot excellent options. Unlikely we will be back on Mon anytime soon, but the next time we are we will be sure to stay at Tohojgaard again. Highly recommended

This is a really nice place, with a lovely atmosphere. The rooms are so clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is fantastic. Homemade jam, choices of juice, bread, fruit, cereals and so on.
The owner is really nice. The area is beautiful. And we enjoyed the swings in the garden too :-)

Hej Rie

It was a pleasure having you here, and I thank you for your stay and your review.
Yes, the swings are fantastic - to explain to other TA-readers they are actually not swings but a kind of hammock, that you sit in in stead of lying and with a little extra seat for your legs / feet. They are placed with a direct view over the Baltic Sea, and are very relaxing, as you found out.
So next time you need a quiet, meditating hour (or two) to rest body and soul, you are most welcome here at Tohoejgaard.
Best regards Christine
