These cliffs are very beautiful ! You can see them from the top but the view is not as beautiful as if you go down on the beach.
You'll have to go down with big stairs, to go down is easy, it is more difficult to go up ! But it is really worthy to go down.

On the way to Mons klint you see beautiful Danish countryside, which itself is worth seeing. Mons klint itself is a spectacular art of nature. There are several routes, which you can go and we went to north from Exhibition center. Both the upper trail and the beach are well worth the hundreds of stairs you have to climb. Our daughter is 5 years old and did not have any problems in the route.

it i a bit of a drive but it's really worht it. Beautifull walking path and the possibility to find some fossiles (but if you want to do that you need to take your time...)

The 497 steps are pretty good for working up a sweat and drinking a nice beer in the cafetaria afterwards. The food was good as well.

There also are a few geocaches in the neighbourhood.

Our trip turned out so much more than i expected. I went with my husband and 2small children age 3yrs n 5 yrs. I would also like to mention, we are not very active or sporty family. So we had our doubts in heart if we would manage fine. The place is beautiful. You do not need to be an artist or photographer to love the scenery of this place. Its so so so beautiful. We drove from copenhagen. The moment, we took to exit from freeway, it is like landing to a fairyland. Neat roads, small houses on both sides of roads, each with maintained gardens, farms (i think it was raddish planted), windmills, tiny shops. My children really thought it was some other world. Finally end of the road is this GEocentre. We took a round first inside just to get an idea of the place. It proved really helpful, as the place has small videos about the cliffs and the fossils found there. It also has fossiles on display which people have found from this area which includes the teeth of a sea dinosaur and bones of squids found at the time of dinosaurs. My kids got super excited that they could probably find some of their own!! Geocenter also arranges some free tours to the beach sometimes. We were lucky as there was a tour just after 30mins we reached the place. Guide took us along with another couple who had kids age 7,5 and 2!! They carried pram too with them in hand while going down in steps. 497 steps my kids ran n finished in around 15min...too excited to dig some fossil. There was a land slide just 1week before so chances were to find more fossil in that area. Once u reach down...mouth just opens by looking at the colors of water n chalk mountain. Kids start to dig immediately. There were many seriously digging n trying to find a fossil. We tried too and FOUND 1 piece of bone of squid of dino era (guide confirmed it). My kids found some sharp stone which they imagined it was dino tooth. So much excitement to climb up to keep all the findings in bag to show friends in day care. 20 mins to climb up!!! 497 steps n no pain no complaints. If we can go, any one with small kids can go. Geo centre has 2movies in 3D explaining how fossils were found n formed. Very nicely n easily explained...even my 3yr old knows it now!!! Did i mention their cafeteria has excellent coffee (i really wondered if there is fresh coffee tree somewhere) and yummy softy icecream. Just great after climb. Even their soveniour shop was not too expensive, they had real amber jewellery for almost half price of copenhagen showrooms.

Only one thing to complain was, we had to buy headsets for 10DKK if wanted to listen movies in English. Movies were running in Danish , there were 2rows with eng subt headset points. I feel headset should be included in price. If you are looking for larger than life museums like America's, then also you could feel less satisfied. But in Europe usually we have small places...be it amusement park or museums.

There is knuthenborg animal safari 1hr from here, opens in spring n summer. We clubbed our trip with that for a perrrfect weekend. You could do that too!!!

We visited this area in February whilst there was snow on the ground. Bitterly cold, but that couldn't detract from the beautiful scenery. Geo Centre was closed, but imagine it would be very interesting. Definitely a place to revisit when the weather is warmer to explore properly.
