“very relaxing and well placed in the town”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

I was there as part of a large group (100 plus) and took the option of a single room with no lake view-prob worth paying the extra as those rooms have a balcony to enjoy the tranquil lake view setting even more. The town is one side and the lake the other so the late opening supermarket was handy too
Staff were fine-a bit cool at times but overall v nice
Breakfast buffet was pretty standard and never changed and a bit chaotic as things ran out and took several minutes to replace
The whole region is mainly agricultural and nearly 3hrs by train from Copenhagen so although the hotel is modern and well kept doesn't get a huge amount of trade it felt
Was reasonable value for money and did it's job

Room Tip: worth paying the extra for a lake view room

One night stay, the hotel surprised us. Next to a beautiful lake. Room and bathroom were big. Breakfast was good. View from our room was terrible, it looked like a seen from the blitz, not really the hotels fault. The town is very quiet, but we found a great steak restaurant down the road.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the lake

Good hotel with friendly staff and great view - close to city center. Rooms could do with an update. Fantastic view over the lake from some room, be sure to ask for them when you order! Walking distance to city center. Great breakfast. Free parking close to main entrance.

When walking the corridors and entering our room it feld like entering a mental hospital or older peoples home which I think this building has earlier been?

There were standard door with letter box and old scratches on. Should invest to sound insulated hotel room doors. Light switches were very old (buttons) as also shower tap. Bathroom reminded me somehow movie "One flew over cuckoo's nest"

View was very nice: lake with ducks and nature.

Restaurant and "bar room" were quite nice, recently restored and pretty comfortably looking. To rooms should do the same.

Sauna, which could be rented, was nothing you expect to find in a hotel. It was like an old washing place in a hospital.

This came as a surprise for us. We had only an overnight and hadn't expected much only to find this little jewel on a lovely lake!
It is old fashioned, but perfectly serviced and modernised. The food was very good in the restaurant and the service friendly.
The town square equally nice.

Room Tip: Lakeside rooms have a much better view. Other rooms stare at the car park.

I stayed here with family. We came to visist the Safari park Knuthenborg as well as the Medieval Park. Both these attractions were just 10-20 minutes away from the hotel and were highly appreciated by all of us.
Our room had a wonderful view of the lake. The hotel is located in the middle of the small town of Maribo.
Wifi was free and of good quality.
The breakfast buffet was ok, with a good variety of cold and warm dishes.
Dinner was good.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had 2 extra beds in our room for our kids. With the extra beds, the room becomes a little bit crowded, but for just one night, this was not a problem.
Staff were friendly.
The hotel has a large parking.
We would stay here again, should we visit this area in the future.
