“One Night”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a package with DFDS Seaways. The hotel is well located about 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and about 5 minutes away from the main shopping street of Esjberg. The rooms are in need of an upgrade and very basic and the bathroom is a bit tatty but the view from my room on the 4th floor was not bad (looking over the harbour)
The one area of the hotel I did find nice was the reception, bar and restaurant which were modern, bright and airy.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of hot and cold choices and I found the staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Not bad views at the front and higher up.

The room I had was fine, that said, I did have an upgraded room. The room in my opinion was a little small, however I was at work most of the day, so I didn't spend much time in the room.

I got back from work at 2100 and the restaurant was already closed, which is quite a disappointment. The hotel doesn't offer any room service either, which is another draw back.

The receptionist (I think his name was Peter), was very helpful in regards to taking care of my luggage when I was at work. I had a mix up with the booking, which required me to move rooms, offered to move my luggage to the new room if I had to move rooms.(however I got my "old" room back).

There was free internet, however it was slow, good enough for emails and such.

All in all, the stay was fine. Not amazed by the hotel, but the get a big "+" in the margin thanks to Peter.

Just don't get the Superior-something room. I paid a lot of money for that room (just for the coffee machine) and I didn't get it. They said it's just the water heater included in the price, not the coffee. :)
Funny thing is, when I checked-in there was coffee in the room...you'll be the judge of that.
For the difference (and it was a lot) I was expecting to see my own espresso machine in the room.

Room Tip: Do not pay for a Superior room, it's just waste of money.

Business people focused hotel (certainly mid week)
Rooms functional, remined me on a UK travel lodge, but I was on 6th floor so rooms may differ
There is a small shop besside the reception and a fully functional bar and resturant (but no guests were visable)
Reception staff very attentive
For a mid week business visit this hotel was fine

Stayed 4 nights on business. Was told at reception that there were upgraded rooms and standard rooms. You guessed it I got a standard one. Certainly in need of a make over. The shower room especially with its shelf above the sink just waiting to knock you out when washing. Internet access in the room was poor with connection continually dropping despite the relay being outside my room. Room was spacious as there was just a single bed. The picture window made the room bright but it had horizontal blinds which meant to get privacy from the apartments the blinds had to be fully closed.
The quicker all the hotel gets upgraded the better.

I stayed for one night, and my stay was business related. The reception staff are quite welcoming, smiling and helpful. I checked in late, but that didn't cause any problems at all. On my previous stay I also had a meal in the restaurant next to the reception and chose to eat from the buffet being served. The selection, presentation and quality of the food excellent, and the breakfast the following day was perfect as well. The rooms are clean and tidy, but they show signs of wear and tear, especially in the bathrooms. Partially broken tiles on the wall, a shower that almost falls down, unstable water pressure and temperature worn carpets and partially quite old furniture. Also no possibility for venting apart from opening the window the few centimeters that are allowed before it's stopped for security reasons. All in all a good experience just staying for a night or two, but for the price per night, I would have expected a bathroom in a better condition.
