“Center Parcs without the forest”

I think at least one other person described Lalandia this way and it's a fairly accurate description. It has a range of activities and Legoland is a short walk away. Many of the properties are detached and whilst they're close together we never felt too overlooked. Many of the cottages are very new so it will probably improve as the trees and bushes grow up a bit. Inside they are well decorated with tiled floors in the bathroom and communal areas and carpets in the bedroom. The blinds could be a bit darker but they weren't too bad in the bright mornings. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the kitchen had a decent range of equipment for self catering. As a Brit in Sweden I've got used to some places expecting you to bring your own sheets and towels or pay extra so this wasn't a shock - it can be a pain if you're trying to pack light. Paying for electricity and water was a new one on me but it seems to be standard for Danish holiday homes.

The water park was good for people with young kids with plenty of slides and features aimed at under 8s. The bigger slides tended to require the use of various rings and mats so I don't know if that would be exciting enough for older teenagers. Families using the four way inflatable slides seemed to be enjoying themselves but there was a minimum height of 120cm so we missed out on this one. The other big slides were 110cm and 100cm. There was also a large indoor play area with ball pens, ropes and slides. This and the waterpark were both included in the cost of the accommodation but there were a range of indoor activities that you could pay extra for including minigolf, ice skating, climbing and rather bizarrely skiing. The slope looked so short it was hard to see how well it would work.

There were several onsite restaurants but some of these only open in the evening and there seemed to be an emphasis on buffet menus. The Cafe Plaza had a menu with more choices but I'm still unsure whether I got food poisoning from here or from food that I bought from the onsite supermarket. The supermarket wasn't cheap but then nowhere in Denmark is. Several hotels in the area have nicer a la carte options and we had two good meals at the Hotel Propellen.

Overall I think that about 4 nights would be about right if you wanted to use it as a base for Legoland as well. Pool admission is included for the duration of your stay including arrival and departure days.

Room Tip: There is a train to get you from the furthest properties to the water park but it seemed to be irreg...

We are a family of 6 with 2 teenagers and 2 smaller children. The cabin was wonderful. The little kids really enjoyed their fantasy room. The kitchen is well equiped and everything worked really well. The cabin was spotless clean.
Bringing your own bed linen and towels is quite anoying (you can rent some but it´s quite expensive.
No point in dining out, just buy your groceries from the local market (Lalandia shop prices are quite reasonable) but you can find less expensive stores in Billund center (2 km away) with a very nice selection of groceries.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabin near the train. Actually, we asked for one near Aquadome/Lalandia resort but they ga...

We stayed in the Billund campsite to visit Legoland, and came here to use the facilities on our second day. The children enjoyed it but for a few waterslides and a short pool and wave machine it was very over-priced. Big softplay area, few overpriced restaurants, reasonable supermarket, minigolf, bowling, etc. Perhaps it is better value if you are staying in their chalets?

We stayed only over the weekend but enjoyed the change to get some quieter time between spending days in Legoland.
Holiday home was comfortable, roomy and had fully equipped kitchen and washing rooms. Area was close enough to Legoland to walk or you could always take the free “train” that goes every half hour.
You have to rent bed linens and towels separately if you don’t bring your own (which was a bit of a problem since we arrived so late in the evening that service center was no longer open). You also need to bring or buy pretty much everything else with you as well (kitchen paper etc.).

Spend 4 days in one of the houses with husband and two children. The value of entertainment is great, the houses we chose to live in is a bit far from the waterworld and Legoland, but it's manageble. The houses are usually clean and well equiped. It's a bit prizy, but in general worth the money as the kids love it.

We have stayed here several times now, and we will probably come back again. The Aquadome water park is just great for the kids. It needs some renovation soon, but all in all it is still a great experience for the kids. Especially the rides which are all great fun. The cabins are in general very good, but it is recommended to ask for Wi-Fi when you book your stay.

Room Tip: Ask for Wi-Fi when you book your cabin. Then you will probably get a newer cabin
