“Not good at all.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

The food was not even recognisable. Went for the lunch buffet, which is cheap, but I will never go there again. Left feeling more than a little sick. The beer was also quite watered down and you still pay more than regular bar prices.

“Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

The restaurant is quite small and so seating was rather cramped.

We opted for the buffet dinner, for which there was a very wide range of selection (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian). It was basic Mediterranean food (a cuisine I am not personally fond of), which might be why I didn't find it that tasty.

The only downside is that the dishes are not labelled- which might be an issue for veg/non-veg or those with food allergies.

On the whole, I would say that it was affordable and very good value.

“standard mediterranean buffet, good quality”

lots of different courses on the buffet. Nothing outstanding, but basically OK. Buffet always kept tidy, quick replacement of empty dishes. You can also order a la carte.

“If you are hungry and on a budget...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2011

In a city where most restaurants are pricey compared with most parts of Europe this is just the place for the traveller on a budget.

We were debating whether to go in or not when a young woman, passing by with some friends, assured us that the food was very good. Inside was very busy but we were shown to a table for two.

The selection of salads for starters (or main courses) was extensive and would satisfy all tastes.

The main hot dishes included a chicken dish, mousakka, meat balls, meat loaf and a tasty vegetarian dish with cheese. Rice, French fries, roast potatoes, bread and another grain dish were also on offer.

For desert, patrons could help themselves to grapes, dates, cake and slices of watermelon and pineapple.

As much as you could eat of the above was available at kr99 or $20 or €13.50.

The may not be haute cuisine but it is nevertheless very satisfying. We went back on a second night and saw some of the faces that we saw the night before. Det Grønne Hjørne must be doing something right when they are attracting back custom.
