“Nice, comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for one night after arriving from the UK on the ferry at Esbjerg. The check in was very smooth and was all done within 5 minutes by the efficient receptionist. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was quite modern in design, roomy and very comfortable. There was free wi-fi and also free parking.
The restaurant and bar weren't open so we decided to walk into the nearby town centre for lunch. Despite it only being 3pm we were surprised to find that all the shops were closed. Apparently they close at 2pm. We found a cafe called Butlers where we had a nice lunch.
We were going to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant, No. 10, but after our big lunch decided to have a snack in the hotel bar - The Fox and Hounds. The bar is decorated in the style of a Scottish Pub - with a British telephone kiosk!! The staff in the bar were really attentive and I have never seen such a wide selection of beers from throughout out the world. We spent an enjoyable evening watching the Eurovision Song Contest. Our attendance obviously brought the Danes good luck as they won.
After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a superb breakfast. We left the hotel to travel into Germany but thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Hotel Europa and highly recommend it - it is somewhere we would love to return to.

I have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting on business. Always a pleasure to stay, decent rooms, excellent pub with a great selection of beers and wonderful food, got to try the spare ribs, the staff are always pleasant and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel one night only, without pre-booking, but got a single room, no problems. Arrived late and left early. Easy and free parking. The receptionist was very friendly, as receptionists tend to be in Denmark. Breakfast was decent enough. My impression was that this is a standard city centre business hotel, nothing wrong with it, but not spectacular either, and hardly an attraction in its own right. Would willingly stay again for business, though.

Overall a very comfortable hotel , with friendly and helpfull stall . I was there on my own but was made welcome and it wasn't a problem even going for a drink in the bar downstairs. Central location, as i was there visiting my son. Able to go out and have a wander around the town. Lots to see and places to go to nearby. The only thing missing was some drawers to unpack a few bits into. Great buffet breakfast.

The Best Western Hotel in Aabenraa is a large business hotel, with a beautiful entrance and lobby. I stayed here 1 night in transit on a bicycle ride. My room (#210) was basic, clean, like the bathroom. However, the bathroom is due for renewal. In the room there is very little space to store clothes. Typically a room for businessmen who stay 1 night. The staff at reception was very friendly and very helpful to provide good storage for my bike. The hotel offers free WIFI. The trendy hotel restaurant "Number Ten" is unfortunately closed, due to the economic crisis. Guests can eat in the "Fox and Hounds" bar in the basement. This bar is more like an English pub, with a large selection of beer. Breakfast is typically Danish, but that morning the staff was very unfriendly, rather rude. The gentleman at the front desk at check-out was also in a bad mood. No "good morning", not asking "how was the stay", he was only interested in getting paid. All in all, mixed feelings.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the weekend. Central, close to pedestraian street with nice shops and next to the old part of the town with its low, beautiful houses. Good beds, lovely linen.
Very helpful receptionists, very cosy bar in the basement (loads of beer brands to choose from), they provided breakfast at 6 am for our early departure (not eggs and bacon, though, but who needs that at 6am?)
They should consider decorating the front glassdoors:) two of us didn't see they were closed:)
Would like to go back.

Room Tip: 225 faces quiet side
