“Good location, avarage quality”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Yes, this hotel is a bit dated, but the room we stayed in has recently been renovated. Too bad they decided to keep some almost antique details, like the radio in the bedside table (why? It doesn't even work!) and the ironing board. This made for a bit of a mix/missmatched feeling about the room. For the most part however it felt okay, adequate standard for a four-star hotel: comfortable beds, roomy bathroom with all the necesary ameneties, free wifi, clean and fresh. No ariconditioning, but the room didn't feel too warm in any way even with relatively high temperatures outside. Breakfast was copious, as it was in most of the Radisson Blu's we stayed in while in Denmark.

The location of the hotel is great: the centre of town and quite a lot of the sights are within walking distance.

Parking is free, but in a public parking lot. This is where we really felt screwed by the town of Odense when we left after our stay. Being polite we thought we'd leave some extra space for the car next to us, parking as close to the sidewalk as possible. But in doing this we missed a white line just next to the sidewalk and parked over that. While we in no way hindered anyone, the private company that deals with parking offences nevertheless fined us for this obviously "serious" offense. The staff of the hotel told us this happens a lot and cars with foreign license plates seem to be specifically targeted by this company - being easy targets. So make sure you park your car between the lines, even at the outer edges of the carpark!

We only stayed here for one night and we enjoyed it. The room we got was very nice and very big - one if the largest room we have stayed in.

It's right next to the city center, so the location is great.

We were making a quick stop in Odense on our way to southern Denmark. We were pleased with the quality of the room, the fantastic breakfast and the location so close to the HC Anderson Museum. My only complaint is that the corridors are very long due to the layout of the building. My mother does not get around well and every time we went to our room it was a time-consuming ordeal.

Rooms are basic but the location is great.
The breakfast buffet is excellent.
I highly recommend the restaurant at dinner time. We came in late and hungry we were a little worried the chef would be upset because we were a party of 5 wanting a big meal. He not only took our order but was very friendly and accommodating helping us choose from the menu.By far it was the best meal on our whole trip. The food was fabulous and we felt no pressure to hurry and finish as it was very close to closing time. Even if you don't stay at the hotel go in for a nice meal.

We were staying at the hotel domir but couldn't get booked for the Saturday night due to the flower festival. For one night we switched to the blu and had our heads turned. Breakfast is excellent, rooms are large and spacious, wifi signal perfect.location is good. Only downside is its a little dated but the other qualities make up for this

Walk outside the door and you are in the streets of the charming old town. Free parking, good breakfast, helpful staff, reasonable prices. A little old fashioned interior, but everything worked. There is also a casino which seems a little strange...

I have stayed in perhaps 10 Radisson Blu's - this was the worst by a significant amount. They should be embarrassed to call this a Radisson Blu.

On the negative side, the hallways are tired and old (they are planning to renovate them), the safety chain on our room was broken and they couldn't fix until the second day, there was significant noise from the street which you heard because there was no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows were open, and there was nothing interesting or charming about the hotel. The hotel felt like an old Holiday Inn in the US which hadn't been renovated in 20 years.

On the positive side, the location was ok and the staff was polite and helpful. I don't think there were other better hotels in town. I probably would have given this a average rating if it wasn't a Radisson Blu - but this was misleading advertising to call it a Radisson Blu. If you are in Odense it may still be the best choice to stay - but at least know what you are getting.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the inside courtyard if you want to avoid the noise.
