This tidy small hotel offers a beautiful view of the port of Volos and it's situated in the heart of the city. You can walk to all the famous "tsipouradika" and to the shopping district. Very clean rooms and helpful staff. One of the major drawbacks is the lack of parking and the lack of noise insulation.

Good location - next to port which connected you to Islands.
Nice view from rooms to the sea.
Hotel surrounded by different restaurants and shops.
Fashion design at the room.
Served tasty Greek breakfast with a lot of bakeries and good choice of local chees.

In two decades of traveling the world, Kipseli Hotel is far and away the worst hotel I have ever encountered.

The room stank of cigarette smoke. The central air conditioning did not work.

The staff failed to offer basic instructions on how to travel around town. When asked for directions to nearby Mount Pelion, the clerk had no clue how to locate the nearest Green KTEL bus.

The mini fridge smelled of mold. The bathtub does not come equipped with a full-size screen, which means the water will leak onto the floor when you shower. This compounds the already considerable mold problem. If you have asthma or suffer from a similar breathing condition, you may find it hard to breathe.

There was a constant sound of hammering. The hotel was apparently under heavy construction, which is not surprising given the poor condition of the property: The dim hallways, the slow elevator, the broken A/C system.

The "free breakfast" was awful: The eggs tasted like rubber, the French toast was burnt, the cereal dispenser did not work. In order to get cereal, you have to reach into the canister with your hand. Just imagine the germs that spread when little kids shove their hands into a tank of cornflakes. The coffee dispenser was often empty.

Frankly, the staff seemed a bit surly. When asked for basic information, they offer just a smile and a shrug. Their command of English is not good.

The beds were as comfortable as lying on rocks.

The "free Wifi" is extremely slow. Often, the only way to access Wifi is by sitting in the downstairs lobby -- a cramped little room.

In summary: If you are staying in Volos, please do NOT stay at Kipseli Hotel. You will find multiple better options by looking elsewhere. Staying at this hotel is equivalent to checking into Hell.

Room Tip: Look for other hotels along the waterfront.

There was no question, that Kypseli hotel was the best location to offer a comfortable accommodation to a couple of senior citizens with kinetic issues. The room with sea view and the Volos bay constant breeze offered them exactly what they were wishing for. But the hospitality of this hotel, the warmth and kindness of the entire stuff from the cleaning lady to the owner of the establishment was beyond expectations. Taking genuine interest on them and prompting them for sightseeing, assisting them with transportation, made this couple of Netherlanders feel comfortable and well taken care of. Most certainly looking forward to go back, anytime of the year!

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are very well sound insulated so don't hesitate to choose them.
