You don't have to be a nudist to visit here so do explore it. However, there are nudists, some fully naked and others just tops showing (ladies). We went here as we though it would be quiet which is was, although some French women came and set up camp almost on top of us even though there was lots of space! The beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles, not brilliant and the sea was very rough and drops quickly so if you aren't a strong swimmer it is difficult. You have to clamber over some rocks or wade through the sea to get to the nice part of the beach but it's not difficult. To access the beach you have to walk all the way along Stafilos beach then through some bushes on a sandy track then down a short but very steep hill before you get onto Velanio beach.

Our first nude beach experience and most memorable other than for the obvious facts. We chose to walk from skopelos all the way to Stafylos, which normally is a 10 minute bus ride that costs around 2euro each way. There is an old paved road that you can take just after the Carrafeur grocery store on the main road out of town, on the way up the hill. Turn left at the fork where the silver looking sign for the hotel is displayed, and follow that up to the right as it parallels the main road behind the houses of the local residents. It will eventually drop you out at the bust stop for Stafylos beach. The entire walk takes about an hour but is worth it, even in the heat. Walk left to the end of the beach and up the path that takes you to over a hill and down to the other section where the official nude beach is located. There are rocks that you can lay behind if you want seclusion, but it is not crowded. Towards the end of the day the cliffs provide shade, but you should bring an umbrella for obvious reasons. It isn't too windy because of the protection of the cliffs and location within a cove. Our favorite beach by far on the island.

This is Skopelos only official nudist beach, and even at the peak of the season it is never crowded. There are no facilities on this beach, with very little shade so come prepared. The water here is crystal clear with lots of fish to enjoy whilst snorkeling . It is about a 20 min walk once you get to Stafilos beach. Walk to the end of Stafilos beach and along the path over the headland., you then see Velanio in all its beauty the clothes option beach is the lower end of the beach. You will see a rock with a painted sign on it. Enjoy !

The town beach(5 minutes drive from the town) of Stafylos is narrow and very busy but walk to the end and over the little hill and the long empty beach of Velanio is there for you to enjoy. It faces south west and has deep clear water.. the longest section just after passing throughout the big standing rocks is officially clothes free now and couples and families enjoy the quiet and the freedom.Of course the Olympic games was a nudist event so you could say the Greeks invented it!
