We spent two nights at this hotel - just to have a look around the island. We had resisted booking a Skopelos boat trip on Skiathos as we thought we would do it here. Amazingly,we couldn't! The only boat trips available were to Alonyssos. We didn't want to rent a vehicle as we'd done that on Skiathos but found the only convenient way to get to a decent beach was by road. This was a bit disappointing. So instead we went to Alonyssos - which we absolutely loved. The trip was with Sporades Queen 1 and it was excellent. We went up to the Old Town which was beautiful and seems to be 20 years behind the rest of the islands. Swimming was lovely in the clear water.
To get to see the island of Skopelos we decided to cut short our stay and depart on the 7.15am cat back to Skiathos where we then booked the Mama Mia boat trip. We visited Kastani beach; Panormos beach and Milia. The sea was aquamarine and beautiful to swim at.
Back to the hotel - it was lovely to have a swim at the pool on returning from our days out and the walk to the town was enjoyable. The room was comfortable and rustic - but not like those on the modern part. It had a lovely view of the harbour and out to sea and of the town at night all lit up.
We had lunch at the hotel restaurant when we arrived and despite being told it was open until midnight - we waited approx 35 - 40 mins for a salad and club sandwich when there was only one other couple there. The staff were lovely and helpful. Reception staff were particularly friendly. We may stay again if we visit again.

My husband and I spent a week at Skopelos Village Hotel in June 2013. We had a wonderful time and just loved our studio room - bright and airy with beautiful and thoughtful decoration and a little verandah with a breath taking view over the harbour and the town. The welcome hamper was incredible and included 2 bottles of wine! The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly and aways glad to help. We ate twice at the restauant and enjoyed the food and friendly service. The entire complex was very clean - the maid service was of a very high standard. We hope to return next year!

we visited Skopelos Village for a week from the 5th June 2013..
the reception staff were extremely helpful, the room we had (156) was very bright, airy and spotlessly clean.
there was everything we needed from toiletries, hairdryer, a useful clothes airer and all the other things you would expect from a self catering apart-hotel.
the hotel restaurant had a beautiful view across to the town and the food was very good, a little more expensive than in town but worth it, the girls who served us were helpful and friendly.
it was about a pleasant 15 minute walk to the main town where the majority of the tavernas were.
we ate at Anna's, excellent, we ate crème pie at Mixaahe, which was recommended by a local and boy, it was amazing!!!!! well worth the find.
all the tavernas we ate in were excellent.
we hired a quad bike from Avis for 2 days to tour this beautiful island and it was great fun, perfect vehicle to get around on.
kastani beach was a good find, very lively with a dj.
we found the people so friendly and helpful all over the island and everywhere was so clean.
on the whole we loved Skopelos and cannot wait to return and also to visit other greek islands.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday here, we were not disappointed what a beautiful peaceful place to relax. The hotel reception set a president for what was to come, we were warmly welcomed into a cool and beautifully decorated area and offered a cooling mint drink which was most welcome after a long journey and sweet confectionery, very nice.
We were then personally shown to our apartment which again was immaculate. Well presented and spotlessly clean and had everything you would need for a self catering stay. Bedding and towels were changed regularly and even the cotton tea towel provided was replaced when needed.
We requested spare pillows from the maids and were brought them within minutes.
All public areas had the same standard during our stay, I wanted to keep this place to myself but feel such exceptional service should be congratulated. Well done to all there, we will be back!!

Room Tip: We had an apartment set back from the main sea view area which was quieter but still had a lovely vi...

This is probably one of the best hotels in Skopelos. That's if you are a family without children (or at least have teenagers).

The rooms are so lovely decorated. Its all new and very clean. You get a feeling of luxury.

We had a Sea Breeze Suite. There was one living room, one bed room, and two bath rooms. The living room had a small kitchen area.

The terrace was quite big. And the views of the sea and the town of Skopelos was stunning.

The walk to the city (small town) was around 10 minutes on a boardwalk along the sea - a very nice walk.

The people working at Skopelos Village were all very professional and friendly.

The evening restaurant was good, so was the breakfast. There are better restaurants in town, though. The hotels restaurant served Greek food with a modern touch. And the view from the restaurant is amazing.

There are 2 pools. Small ones. One of them has a little child part, not protected from the deep part though.

The hotel seems to have mostly older guests, like 40 +. Or younger couples without children. Some of them did not like the fact that there were children crying or playing by the pool. Our daughter did not make much noise, but the few times she did, I felt we were disturbing. The staff were very child friendly though.

Skopelos town has a small outdoor childrens park by the sea, our daughter wanted to go there everyday. Probably because the lack of a good beach.

We will probably not choose this hotel again. Because:
*The main customers are couples without children. We are a small family.
*The pool was not suitable for children.
*Skopelos does not have a beach where you can swim - because its a port. You have to drive about 20 minutes to get to a decent beach. Our daughter loves the sea.

We originally intended to visit Skiathos but the reviews of the Skopelos Village Hotel and their own website persuaded us to select it.

I think the owners have done a lovely job of 'retro fitting' the original accomodation and adding new buildings which are stylish, beautiful, comfortable and immaculate.

Over the last few years, I've noticed an emerging trend for 'luxury' hotels in Greece and personally I visit Greece because I like Greece, not because I'm after an idenitikit, contemporary hotel.

I like the way that Skopolos Village have managed to combine Greek aesthetics - whitewash, crisp white bedlinen, bouganvillea, sea views etc. with extra touches that any regular visitor will appreciate: a kettle; luxury shower; consistent electricity, wi fi & hot water. The communal areas like the restaurant, reception and pool have been beautifully styled with quirky vintage items.

Skopelos Town is lovely and a great base for visiting Skiathos & Alonissos too. The hotel is an easy walk from the harbour and old town. Being on the opposite side of the harbour, you can enjoy the view of the bay and plenty of extra sunshine late in the day.

The food and drink available to enjoy in the bar/restaurant (along with glorious sea views) is excellent and it was good to enjoy some 'twists' on traditional Greek food.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional and the cleaning team totally exceeded our expectations. It's a very 'classy' and welcoming hotel.

All in all, it was a pleasure to stay there and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other fans of Greece. I wish I had booked a longer break and will certainly be going back (once I've worked out a way of avoiding Skiathos Airport's miniature runway..)

Room Tip: The tour operator we travelled with could only offer us the most basic studio room type which didn...
