“Just back!”

Just returned from a wonderful week at Agnadi. Andreas greeted us on arrival with cold drinks - very welcome after the walk up the hill. He then carried our (heavy) bags up to our apartment. We had a one bed apartment on the second floor and this had the most amazing views from the balcony. Handy that the one bed 'maisonettes' have an en-suite loo & basin. The whole complex was kept spotlessly clean by the cleaners and the gardener. Overall, it was a very very enjoyable holiday and the lovely Becky makes fantastic cocktails and ALWAYS has a big smile on her face.

My wife and I spent a week, from 16th to 23rd May 2014 at the Agnadi Studios. The airport transfer coach dropped us off on the main road about 200m from the Agnadi. Luckily our baggage had been transported to the Studios by van, because the the walk from the main road was up a very steep hill.
We didn't have much contact with the hotel staff, we were greeted by Becky, the niece of the lessees of the pool bar. Our twin single-bed self-catering room was basic, but very clean. Storage consisted of a wardrobe and only one draw, the self-catering arrangements were two electric rings,a sink and a fridge and adequate crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for two people. The view from our first floor balcony was spectacular, overlooking the turquoise sea and a number of small islands.
The pool and surrounds were pleasant and well maintained with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. The pool bar was run by a charming couple, Andreas, his wife and their niece, I think it was only their second week as lessees. We eat a number of breakfasts and evening meals in the bar which were freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced.
The Thomson's rep. Sarah, was excellent, for instance on our first night we found that there was no hot water for a shower, we mentioned this to Sarah and thereafter there was adequate hot water at all times.
The bus service into Skiathos Town is good and costs 1.80 standard fare for anywhere on the island. Places are defined by the nearest Bus stop, Agnadi's nearest stop is No9, Skiathos Town bus station is No0. As there were four of us, we were holidaying with another couple, we found it cheaper, 7Euros, to take a taxi into town and on the return trip it would take us up the really steep climb to the Agnadi, which was worth a fortune.

We stayed in a studio for two weeks this month. There are 27 studios and 1bed apartments over three floors.1 bed apts are on the top floor with the best views. We were on the middle floor with fantastic sea views. Ground floor have a private terrace that has a gate and leads onto the pool area, there are still sea views from here. Studios are clean and modern with the usual basic cooking and dining utensils Including a kettle.
We ate on our balcony each morning for breakfast and on two evenings as the view was so amazing.... We usually eat out every night.
The Pool was a good size and clean with plenty of sun loungers for this time of year. Andreas and his wife Blairta and niece Becky were great hosts at the pool bar. We had a pizza there and it was lovely.
Down side for some is the steep walk up from the main resort road. If you are elderly, have mobility problems or a child in a push chair then this may not be the place for you. Some people who did not expect the steep walk up and need to hire a car for their stay.
Agnadi is near bus stop 9 with buses to all the other beaches and Skiathos Town. Skiathos Town is a nice 30 minute stroll along the main road or €1.60 each on the bus €4-5 in a taxi but our favourite was the €2.50 by water taxi from the beach. Skiathos town is worth visiting and we went during the day and at night when it comes alive with a lovely atmosphere. There are ferries here to Alonissos and skopelos.

Achladies has a few tavernas, Two on the beach and a few further back. We liked our visit to the Rose garden but heard that Porta Rosa was good aswell.

Achladies beach is great but was getting busier towards the end of our holiday. Kanapitsa beach was our favourite and koukanaries was busier but lovely. 2 sunloungers and parasol cost €8.50 across most of skiathos.

Tips.. You are dropped off on the main road when you arrive and have the steep road to walk up, luggage comes separately and arrives after you so put some swim stuff or shorts and suncream in your hand luggage.

If you want to go on a boat trip get them from Town harbour as they are much cheaper than those from the rep and great value for money.

Agnadi hotel is fantastic if you don't mind walking and steep hill to the hotel. Great value for money and a view to die for, we would not hesitate to recommend it.

just stayed at agnadi studios for two weeks and we have to say we we felt most welcome,
andreas ,his wife and becky could not do enough for you.the appartments have all got views overlooking skiathos town and neighbouring islands.and are cleaned daily ,the sheets and towels were changed at least six times during our stay and the cleaning lady was top quality always greeting us with a pleasant smile.the pool and gardens were well maintained again credit to maintainance man who was doing an excellant job.the bar was well stocked with a variety of drinks and food, our favourite lunch time snack was the pizza made by becky,(who we nicknamed the pizza queen.)but there were other more traditional dishes.with it been early in the season most people returned to the apartment around 11 pm and had a little gathering in the bar which was a very good way of meeting others and ending the day. all in all a very good holiday enjoyed by everyone we met,
well done

Have just returned from a wonderful week at the Agnadi appartments, enjoyed every minute. The views from the room and the pool terrace were spectacular, the room was clean, quiet and very comfortable, and the pool area and garden were very well-maintained. Andreas, the manager, and Becky, were both so helpful and friendly, and really made us welcome.
Had very nice meals at The Olive Garden,( further up the hill so even more spectacular views) and Kanapitsa taverna further along the coast.
We're definitely planning to return.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second or third floor have the views.

Arrived on the first flight into Skiathos on 2nd May. A short transfer and we arrived at our apartments. We were met by Andreas who greeted us with a cold beer, which was very welcome after the walk up the hill to the apartments. The view from the pool area and balcony was fantastic - we could see all the way to the harbour entrance at Skiathos Town and the surrounding small islands. The pool area was clean and well maintained with a pool bar serving a variety of dishes. The feta and beetroot salad was lovely - made by Andy's wife,Blerta (not sure if this is spelt right) who works at The Final Step in Skiathos town. She also made me a cake as it was my birthday while we were there. Andreas made the holiday and looked after us really well. The rooms were spacious and clean - towels and sheets changed twice during the weeks stay. A large balcony made the most of the fantastic view.

It was a short 30 minute walk into Skiathos Town. Taxi's cost 5 Euros - we walked in and caught the Taxi home. The water taxi was up and running by the time we left. You can catch this on the beach at Hotel Esperides in Achladies Bay. Skiathos Town has loads of bars and restaurants - you're spoilt for choice. We went most nights to The Old Port pub run by Dennise and Brian,a lovely couple from Leeds, but there are plenty of choices.

Achladies has a few restaurants which were opening as we were coming home. Andreas was due to open Porto Rosa restaurant in Achladies the following week. Paradise Beach Taverna is also worth a trip.

A great holiday and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: All rooms had a view of the bay. The 2nd and 3rd floors had the best views.
