“Be Aware Before Booking This Hotel Overbooking Is The Norm.”
Reviewed June 30, 2007

We booked this Hotel in February 2007 (for June 2007) through Med Hotels. Having checked on Trip Adviser that it had high standards, we did also note that there was a problem with overbooking in 2006 and this did make us hesitate but we liked the look of hotel and felt that a hotel of this calibre would not continue their cavalier attitude to overbooking and ruining guests holidays.
How wrong can you be! Two days before we were due to arrive we received notification that La Piscine were unable to honour our booking (in spite of having our hotel accommodation voucher). This gave us the problem of finding suitable accommodation at short notice.
Med Hotels were unable to find a suitable comparable alternative and we suggested to them that they should give serious consideration to no longer making reservations with this hotel.

Having reaad other reports on this hotel I felt confident that all would be fine.
Wow! this hotel is fantastic, real luxury from the minute you arrive.
We left our luggage at reception - checking in was over in seconds, then we were led to the poolside bar for a refreshing welcome drink.
Our room overlooked the pool which had great sunbeds on three sides. Towels were provided for the super padded sunbeds. (No morning rush to reserve a either!
The room we had was spotless, the bathroom towels were changed daily and linen every other day.
We had breakfast by the pool each day, a good selection of cereals and cooked food was available.
The hotel is about 15mins walk to the main street of Skiathos Town. You will find lots of restaurants and tavernas also nice shops as well as junky souvenir ones.
I recommend Dino's,and The Jailhouse is excellent and in a good place overlooking the harbour. For a special treat visit The Lighthouse the views are as good as the food - a bit pricey but excellent . Lots of steps to climb to reach it but well worth it just remember to book in advance.
We had a great holiday and I thoroughly recommend this hotel and also Skiathos itis a beautiful place very green and pretty.

We have just returned from our second visit here. Upon arrival, we were greeted at Reception by Nadia who invited us to the bar for a most welcome complimentary drink, so we relaxed immediately. After our drink we then checked in at reception and upon getting into our room we had been upgraded to a Suite,at no extra charge - a four posted bed, two couches, mini bar, dressing gowns and slippers (uh huh we were impressed!!).
This hotel has got to be the best boutique hotel in Greece, comfy sunloungers with complimentary pool towels and they bring the drinks over to you so you dont even have to move from the pool (bonus). The hotel put on 2 complimentary Greek Nights during our stay, thursday and sunday night, which is bbq meats, salads etc.

We stayed here last year in May and I can say June has got to the best month to come, busy but not overly crowded, hot weather and the people in greece are the most friendliest people you will ever meet.

We tended to eat in the restaurants this year that we not on the waterfront as we did last year, in the street behind the main waterfront there are some excellent tavernas, offering authentic greek food and fantastic seafood - they are much better value and quality although the waterfront is nice during the day for lunch as prices dont tend to vary for greek salads etc.

The best restaurant we went to was "Marias Pizza", although we had to queue it was worth the wait - its very popular and when you do sit down the food is delicious, authentic pizzas made by Maria herself! Recommend the Green salad with pasta, its huge and mouth watering. Such cute menus, there hand made!.

We got the bus most days from Bus stop3 opposite the 2 supermarkets near to la piscine, 5 min walk from hotel. We went to Koukanaries beach, so easy to get to and very cheap 1 euro 50 cents each way. Fantastic beach, sunloungers, watersports, kiosk, beach bar, toilets etc. You can get to Banana and little banana from the bus stop at Koukanaries (bus stop 26), it is about a 1 mile walk, very straight forward to get to although watch out for the insects, there is quite alot. Banana beach is gorgeous, there is even a dj playing and funky couches to sit on.

Must recommend Plakes Taverna which you can get to by taking the trek up the hill, take this path from the Jailhouse restaurant next to Jimmy's cocktail bar, follow it up, its signposted, great for lunch and watching the sunset = great food.

Overall, we had a fantastic time, didnt want to leave, wish we had booked for 2 weeks/2 years! :-)

Our second visit to the hotel and I must say it was even better than the first.

Our room was upgraded to a Suite at no extra charge the hotel even put on a Free meal for a number of us, as we met such lovely people and all became friends.

Needless to say I have already booked us in for the same time next year for two weeks - can't wait.

We stayed here for a week from 15th May 2007. The journey to get to Skiathos was not the best due to civil service strike in Greece on day of departure but once we arrived 12 hours late, it was all worth it. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Boutique style with lovely sofas, incredibly comfortable sun loungers with towels provided, pool very very nice and service from bar area very good in main areas and rooms are a very high standard with daily maid service - clean towels every day and bed linen changed every other day. The location of the hotel is great also. 5-10 minute walk into Skiathos Town which is one of the nicest places we have been to in Greece. No hassle from shop or restaurant owners. There is an amazing choice of places to eat and drink and service and quality is very good and prices very cheap compared to eating out in the UK. We did go to the Windmill and got the Honeymoon Table which was great (booked via email before we travelled) and even though it was the most expensive meal we had in Skiathos it was very very good. Skiathos is a great island in Greece and we are planning on going back to same hotel next year for a week again and will hire a car for a couple of days. This visit we just chilled out by the pool and did not feel the need to explore but would next visit. This hotel is great and ideal for couples looking for high level of service and lovely surroundings.
