“Not for the faint hearted”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

The beaches on the northern side of the island are more rugged and less touristy however you need a car (and often nerves of steel) to get to them. The roads often run out and become dirt tracks and often run precariously along cliff edges. That aside the northern beaches are great.

“Lovely beach”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

One of the best beaches on the island. A little deserted, but who wants a packed beach? Lovely sand, warm water, and a beach bar close at hand. What more could one ask for? Care - watch out for the odd nudist!!

“Deserted splendour”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

Don't go to Megalos Aselinos beach for slick facilities. Go for wild waves when the wind's coming from the north (be really careful if you're swimming, there's an undertow you must watch out for). Stop off in Troulos on the way and buy some watermelon, bread and cheese as you might not find a taverna to cater for you. Some sunbeds and umbrellas. A dramatic spot for beach combing, walking and fishing.

“Huge beach - not busy”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Found by car only. No buses. Mainly locals but also is visited by boat trip. Good snorkelling, but watch the weather. If windy can be 2 metre high waves !

“Lovely beach”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We happened upon the beach while touring the island and relaxed here for a few hours. Swam in the shallow waters, laid in the sun on the loungers which for some reason we were not charged for. Do expect to pay 8 euros for loungers.
