The first time we went to town we visited Bourtzi, a peninsula that separates the old port from the new port. It was a fortress in old times and now isa place for art and culture and relaxation. There is a small museum with musical instruments from all around the world and it is very interesting and the lady at the ticket counter (2 euros entrance!) is always eager to give information. There is also an open theater which hosts interesting events throughout the summer and an exhibit space. At the back side there is a small café under the pines where it is very nice to sit and have a drink with all this view in front and there are also some stairs leading to a small, rocky beach if one feels like swimming or just relaxing romantically under the stars. Very nice!
