We had a meal on a night with very few customers. We had great service and an amazing table next to the water.

Overall all the dishes were very well prepared. You can tell that whomever is in the kitchen tries to elevate the food above the typical greek fish tavern.

We had Taramas, melizanosalata (egg plant dip), greek salad and tomato seared Calamari. All very good.

For main we had a large prawn (750gr) called Koloktipa in greek, cooked with spagetti and tomato sauce. Spagetti was cooked prefectly al dente. Tomatoe sauce was good but the strong tasteof the prwn was too diluted. Maybe preparing a better broth would have helped. They did include a lot of spagetti to accommodate the three of us even though the prawn size was possibly enough for only two. This dish is called "astakomakaronada" and the cost of it is by the weight of the koloktipa or the lobster used. The cost is €100/kg inclusive of the pasta that comes with it.

They offered us some sweets at the end on the house.

Overall the food was great and it is easy to eat fish in greece but hard to have really good fish, so I strongly reccomend it. We paid €45 per person including a bottle of white wine.

We had a fresh mussels steamed in wine that was delicious but the shrimps cooked in the traditional way were not really fresh.

Just off the boat from Athens we strolled into Tarsanas for dinner.

The ambiance is casual but elegant. We enjoyed local fried small fish and had a fish for two prepared La Spetsiota (if I spell that right needs to be confirmed)- and it was truly delicious.

The waiters know what they are selling and made a real effort to ensure we were content.

Price was not the cheapest by local standards, but the quality was there.

My only comment would be that it's tough to read the bills and they seem to add a donation for charity on top of your bill....which I consider to be borderline. I'd suggest they consider asking first. We let it slide for three euros.

Other than that we had a very pleasant meal

you will eat there the most fresh fish in the island next to the sea in the old harbor of spetses! great location in the heart of the nightlife of the town! Minas, the owner, is a very professional and kind person. after food, visit La Luz the best bar of the island, within 1 minute walk from Tarsanas!

Yes it is expensive, but it is the one of the best places to relax your eyes and your mind, drink Ouzo with the best Greek meze fish eggs. I never visit during the high season but believe me from April to June it is a unique place.
