“magnificent location”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Great greek architect Konstantinidis designed this hotel.
The location of the hotel is perfect, amazing view from the terrace both to poros town and to Galatas.
Staff was helpfull, very polite and cheerful, the breakfast was very good.
The surrounding garden and the path leading to the private beach was lovely.
Both the public areas of the hotel (corridors, lobby, terrace etc.) and the rooms was very clean - like very much the tiles instead of wall to wall carpets many hotels have.
There is also a bus that passes by the hotel every one hour going straight into the town centre which is very handy!

we stayed in an excecutive sea view room at the 2nd floor with spectaculat view to Galatas. i didn't like two things: first the very very small shower in the bathroom- we are thin and we were carefull not to touch on the wall while we had a bath and second it was a small building across our room in the courtyard with air conditioning units or something like that and when they was on it was very noisy.

Few words about the island.
Poros is a small island close to Athens with many things to do and see as the posidon temple, the Historic Clock at the top of the hill over the harbour, beautifull neoclassical houses- among the most beautiful houses of Poros the stunning Villa Galini has hosted great personalities of the Arts, Literature and politics as politician Eleftherios Venizelos, american writer Henry Miller, the poet Seferis etc.
Beautifull beaches as Askeli, Love bay, Vagionia and my favorite Russian bay.
Nice food, don't forget to eat at Aspros Gatos (white Cat) at Mikro Neorio - perfect spaghetti with shrimps!! Another restaurant i like is Askeli at Askeli beach- try the greek version of nisoise is very nice. Great handmade icecream in patisserie "Glikisma"-city center and patisserie "Vessala" - harbour road at Pounta

Room Tip: don't choose the rooms next to the a/c station

The design of the hotel is amazing: the stunning view of the sea, the mountains and the port encircles the lobby and the veranda from all sides. The staff is friendly and efficient, rooms are clean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are tasty
The twin bed room had in fact an european double-bed split into two, thus the beds are quite narrow when separated.
Breakfast coffee could be stronger

Room Tip: Many rooms have a fantastic view

We stayed mid-September so the hotel was a couple of weeks off closing for the season and they were starting to clear seats and tables into storage at the beach bar but this did not spoil the wonderful experience at this hotel which is really friendly and extremely helpful. I had left a jacket in Athens from my overnight stay and they rang through, organising the return of my jacket to me via courier.

Janice is a Scottish lady on reception & an absolute star plus with speaking English, she fully understands what guests need & expect on holiday. Dina too is a very good help (my jacket) and George (waiter) is very friendly whilst remaining professional at all times. They will ensure you have everything you want on holiday at this hotel.

The food at the hotel was excellent. There is a very wide choice at the breakfast buffet and if you eat at the hotel restaurant, the food is well priced - same as the local tavernas - and very tasty. Drinks there were a little expensive as were the drinks in the room fridge. We bought our drinks at the supermarket and kept them in the fridge in our room. If you want to eat out, there are 2 local tavernas to the right of the hotel and another 2 to the left - both within a 10 minute walk. Our favourite was Martinas Taverna next to the White Cat - 2nd taverna to the right of the hotel. Martina - the owner - is in her 70s and was a top Greek dancer in her youth. She is quite a character and makes you so welcome in her taverna. The tables are right next to the sea so don't push your chair backwards or you will end up in the water! It was our favourite place to eat with excellent food and prices.

Our room was a superior ensuite room with sea view with a balcony overlooking the sea and Poros town. It got the sun in the mornings but if you want to sit on the balcony when the sun goes down you need to ask for a room at the side near the pool which also overlooks the sea. Our room was very big with lots of wardrobe space, several drawers & a safe. No problem with the room size & the balcony was big too. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower over the bath. Towels were replaced every day and the sheets were changed every 3 days. We did find it odd the cleaners didn't leave us a clean drinking glass every day but after leaving a cup & saucer in the room which they did not remove, we could only think they are not like in the UK and don't deal with crockery & glasses. However, had we asked for a clean drinking glass, I know we would have been provided with them straight away.

There is a swimming pool which was very refreshing - a bit cold even in September - and a path to a small private beach with a beach bar & toilets. The sea was warm enough to swim in in September but I did think it would have been a bit warmer. The sand is shingly but there are free sunbeds and umbrellas with the pine trees giving plenty of shade too in places. We didn't use the beach bar much as it only took a minute to nip back to our room for cold drinks but meals and drinks were served there. We discovered that there are small silver fish in the sea that nibble you gently if you stay still in the water when you are getting into the water if you take a while. This was a surprise when we first discovered this but they don't hurt. There are small stones when you are getting into the sea so those sea shoes would be useful.

Wi-fi - there is free wi-fi in the hotel but you have to be next to the reception area to receive it. There is also a small computer room with 2 computers in it available 24/7 - one with an English keyboard and one with a Greek keyboard. Both have interenet access.

The hotel is situated across from the small town of Poros which is about a 25 minute pleasant walk along a small winding road by the sea. The roads are not too well lit in places at night and a torch is a good idea for walking home. Taxis into Poros and back to the hotel are around 3.50 euros in the day - up to 5 euros at night. There are buses that run during the school holidays but these stop after the kids return to school. The hotel collects people from the ferry on arrival free of charge. They also return you to catch your ferry back as well.

Room Tip: We had room 132 which was a superior double ensuite room with sea view and balcony. I think all the...

Had 10 days holiday on this picture postcard island staying in a wonderful hotel and as a result of this it will be hard to go to another greek island and have my expectations met. If you want a get away from it all with an authentic Greek atmosphere this is the place.

We had a superior room with sea view and it was breathtaking. The room was excellent and we could not find fault with anything. Breakfast was good, beach and location idealic and staff were always attentitive. No high rise hotels or busy tourist locations which suited us. This hotel was clearly the best hotel on this island, which we explored on a quad bike. Doesn't take long but it was lovely to visit all the bays and coves.

We walked into Poros town which was stunning, magnificant boats moored there added interest to visiting the town. Plenty of good eating places all serving great fresh food. We particularly liked our dining expericence at Matinas Taverna a short walk from the hotel. She is a great host and excellent cook, the jumbo jumbo prawans were to die for but the mussels took a lot of beating. At the end of the evening she takes time to visit your table for a chat and even does a bit of fishing with bread and fishing wire as you talk.

All in all a brilliant hotel in a breathtaking location oozing with authentic Greece. Will definitely return.

After having a very good experience at this certain hotel, during summer of 2012, i decided to make a short trip to Poros Island again and stay there since i was quite satisfied from the experience i had.
Unfortunately my experience this time was not as good as the first time. After checking in, i went to the room where i could not find my towels. i asked from the reception to get some and they came 2 hours later..i couldn't even have a shower.
The room was not that clean. At this point we have to mention that some rooms of the hotel are renovated while some others not. Because i was with my girlfriend i asked for a specific room, insisting to be sure that it would be this one but the room was completely different..
I also certainly asked for a double bed..and there were two single beds attached to each other..
Finally the hotel staff was not really kind and the only thing they seemed to care was the bill or the check..
I felt at various times unpleasantly during my stay there..and its really shame..because i liked the place at first...

We have just returned from a week at the Poros Image hotel and have to say it is one of the best holidays we have ever had. The views across to the port were breath taking and the atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed yet professional. We ate in the hotel 3 nights and every lunchtime and were always impressed by the service and standard of food. The hotel was spotless and the room was spacious with a fantastic sea view. The port is a 25 minute stroll away and is buzzing with activity with lots of yachts, nice bars and tavernas. The private beach is idyllic, peaceful and the sea is crystal clear. The beach bar was well managed and the staff were great. We had amazing weather for the whole week. The island is unspoilt and a great place to relax and unwind whilst soaking up the ever hospitable Greek culture. The staff were friendly and helpful without exception and we will definitely be back next year.
