We stayed one night only as it was a last minute booking howver we were sorry to move on. The room was wonderful, bedding, linen and decoration all excellent Everything about this hotel had been well thought out and delivered on. Large furnished terrace, breakfast downstairs and good. The host of the hotel was very helpful and charming.

Each room like a private apartment. With verandahs one overlooking the sea & the other the hills. Sparklingly clean.

Tasteful decor, owner the hospitable host.

Am lovin' it. And it is not at all like an assembly line hotel! Each room is distinct and not like a faceless factory assembled box.

We had a lovely time in Hydra if you exclude the problem with the airconditon in our room.
It had a strange smell and when we asked the owner of the Hotel he told us that he had cleaned the filters. The problem was that by the 3rd night I got sick and it seamed that I had problem breathing. When I contacted my doctor he gave me madication and told me to avoid the room in case I have picked up a bug from the aircondition.
I have been before to this beautiful island but I could not belive that I could get so sick because of an aircindition.

We visited the hotel at the end of June and we spent two days there. The hotel is very nice, the owners are friendly and helpful and our room was well decorated and clean.
We paid 130 euros per night which i found it a bit expensive.
I would recommend the hotel.

The Hotel was clean, and beautifully furnished with an excellent breakfast buffet verging on the healthier side than most hotels.
But Angelica's is best suited for the Older traveller, lets say at least 65+ . The retiree who likes a quiet holiday. The staff were friendly and efficent but were constantly running around saying "Sssshhhh" to every little bit of noise. It was all well and good when hotel staff started vacumming at 8am outside our rooms but if one of the guests had a hairdryer on at 6pm with our window open or door slightly ajar they would get all high and mighty and lecture us on being quiet. And this was on a day when our group was getting ready to be party of the bridal party for a sunset wedding.

So if your younger than 70 and like to enjoy your holiday there are cheaper and just as nice hotels as Angelica's on the island of Hydra...

We went to a wedding on Hydra and stayed in this hotel for a weekend. When we talked with other wedding guest staying at the same hotel, we found out that each room is different;
The size of the rooms are different, the conditions are different. Some have semi-private balconies, others doesn't.

Not only that, we all paid different prices for each room, and it wasn't dependent on how big the rooms are.

Apparently there's some room to negotiate and ask for a bargain with the manager; The prices listed on their website is way over market rate. To get the best rates, do the Greek visitors do: contact the hotel directly, either through email or on the phone. Paying by cash might get you even better bargain.

The family who runs the hotel is quite friendly. They respond to email very promptly and very helpful in general.

The breakfast was good: bread, eggs, cheese, meats, pastries, cereal, etc. You can opt out to save some money if you don't want it.

The VIP rooms are indeed much nicer than the ordinarily "deluxe rooms". I don't know if there are even rooms that are non-deluxe :-)

The hotel is up a hill. Like the rest of Hydra, the road is made of cobblestones and could be slippery when wet. Definitely not for the handicapped or people with trouble climbing.

Other than that, I think it's just a decent hotel, not the best, not the worst. Just a room to sleep in.

Lastly, I've just this comment to make and it hhas nothing to do with this hotel in particular, but just as a warning to folks traveling to the Greek islands: the plumbing there are not exactly modern. Tap water has to be shipped in from the mainland and it's brackish (slightly salty) and tastes bad. Toilets don't flush with enough pressure. To get hot water, you got to flip a switch to turn on the water heater and wait several minutes.
That's just something everyone has to deal with but I actually found that it all a bit amusing.
