“The best B&B we've stayed at yet!”

Hotel Mistral was truly wonderful in every way. The owner, Theo, and the rest of his staff are very friendly and helpful (and also very good at English for those of you who don't speak Greek). Check-in was fast and simple, our room was lovely and comfortable, and the breakfasts each day were remarkable — so much delicious food that we had to take a nap afterward to recover!

The hotel is located a short (~5 min) walk from the port, so no need to take a donkey there for transport. It was nice to be a bit away from the port itself to enjoy the quiet nature of the rest of the island. Couldn't recommend a better place to stay — we look forward to our next trip!

We two couples just spent two nights at this lovely small hotel. The rooms are simple but nice, and there TV with CNN and BBC news for those needing fresh news. The breakfast is the best I've ever, prepared by proprietor Theofilos Saitis, a native, who runs it with wife Jenny, who grew up in Canada. I cannot overemphasize the quality of the meal, a little bit of everything, delightfully delivered. We got good directions to Leonard Cohen's house, and ate dinner at nearby Christina's a few door away, and a local, excellent, reasonably priced bistro. Also, like The Hyra Trading Company, for good quality items, not the usual knick knacks. You will love The Mistral for an island idyll.

We had the opportunity to stay at Mistral Hotel on Hydra island. What an amazing hotel - the bed was comfortable, the room quite big and the view over the island was magical. The breakfast was scrumptious with all homemade even down to the jam - yummy. Make sure you stay here as it is so friendly and the island itself is beautiful. I rated it highly as it was the best hotel we have stayed in. Thank you Mistral.

What a special find in Hydra! Owned by a charming couple they Inn is charming with a beautiful sea view. It is set far enough back from the Harbor to be peaceful but close enough to stroll quickly down to the sea. The owners make the most wonderful breakfast! All from scratch you will most certainly be impressed. We wish we could have stayed longer--everything was perfect!

Room Tip: Any room is lovely!

We were traveling with our two small children and another couple who also had two small children. The hotel staff was flexible as we ended up switching rooms to better accommodate our two families. We had a two-room suite on the main floor which allowed us to use the common room after the kids were in bed. They provided travel cribs with sheets, etc. for the two toddlers. The breakfast was my favorite part: set in a lovely outdoor patio, they brought us plate after plate of food, including fresh strawberries, a strawberry yogurt/mousse, vegetarian omelet, apple pastry, cereal and milk, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes and olives, coffee bread, tea, coffee, orange juice, and more. Wonderful place; I would stay here again.

The hotel has been smartly renovated since we first stayed there in 1993. But the real draw are the owners and staff at this quiet but well-located hotel. Jenny and Theo have a smooth-running operation with a very responsive staff. But the real difference is Theo's three-course breakfast (included in the price), different every day, served in a lovely courtyard and crowned by his fantastic home-made jams. All this and luggage wrangling to and from the port. It was the perfect ending to our 20th anniversary trip.

lovely location. Our room was charming and beautifully done, the breakfast was delicious and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I'd made a mistake booking our reservation (pushed the wrong date button on my laptop) they graciously corrected everything for us. I'd go back in an instant and stay longer.
