“Definitely worth a visit”
Reviewed April 28, 2009

The Temple of Aphaia is the best preserved in Greece. It is a 2 story structure with doric columns, that in itself makes it unusual. It is not as impressive as the ruins at the Acropolis but it is like comparing apples to oranges. It is still quite impressive and definitely worth a visit. Aegina is wonderful place to visit. Don't miss it.

“Not Worth Special Trip”
Reviewed March 22, 2009

I, too, saw this Temple as part of a one-day three-island tour. Aegina itself is not as charming as Poros or Hydra so the tour to the Temple seemed like the best way to spend the time on the island. We had also been to the Parthenon and the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio so it was neat to have completed the triangle (all 3 temples are 25 km apart, thus forming an equilateral triangle).

Definitely buy the Pistachios and the homemade pistachio ice cream there. They are wonderful and well worth the money.

“Part of the Sacred Triangle”
Reviewed July 7, 2007

Went to the Temple of Aphaia as part of a one day three island cruise out of Athens. I'm glad I went to see it as it is the best preserved temple in Greece, but I am glad that I didn't make a special trip there. Compared to the Acroplis, the Agora and Delphi, you see just the ruins without a museum or any explanation that puts the temple into perspective. The trip up and down passed the Agios Nectarious Monastery and Church (a must see) and pistacho trees were everywhere (pick up the freshest pistachios anywhere there).
