“Nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

We choose this hotel on the web and it's a really great surprise: clean and large rooms, nice and gentle staff and very close to Mistra, our goal, just on the way to it, only 5 km far.
The hotel hasn't got a restaurant but asking to the staff they can help you and suggest some nice places in the neighbourhood.
Really good the welcome drink: fresh orange cold juice.

We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Dioscouri. Friendly staff: upon arrival we immediately received fresh orange juice. They were really expecting us! Comfortable room. Good Location.
Mystras is worth visiting. Sparta is not. It is very hard to find a nice restaurant in town.

Hotel Dioscouri is a special find. Our accommodations were very spacious, comfortable, clean. Staff was exceptional in their cordiality, attentiveness, ability to be helpful without being intrusive. Bits that did not work quite properly, for instance a shower head that broke, were tended to promptly. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The public and guest rooms are a well maintained classic modern style, with tasteful original art by the owner's family member.

The central location of the Hotel means good views from many of the rooms onto the surrounding mountains, most of the rooms have balconies, and main sights are within an easy walk. The Olive Museum is well worth some hours, good bus travel to beautiful Mystras is easy. Being so central does mean street noise, but that quiets down early (and might start up early).

This was the fourth of five total hotels in our seven day stay in Greece. (Jun 4, 2012)
We enjoyed our stay with a great view of a small city park, we had two huge balconies and a very comfortable room with great ac, staff was very nice, breakfast was traditional, town was worth a walk thru. After our walk of the town we were please to come back to our hotel as it was very nice compared to many others we walked by.

Sadly, there is not much to see in the Sparti area and the town looks like a once happing place is now rather empty. Upon check out (Jun 5, 2012, Tuesday) the concierge gave us a map with some local sites to check out so we drove to the Olive Museum, to find out that it was the only day of the week it was closed! :( However, we were able to see the remaining sites.

Room Tip: Room with a balcony, facing the city park.

I travelled alone in Greece for one month. During my trip in Peloponese I stayed two nights in these nice hotel. Mystra was really beautiful and great to see, and I had a very nice walk the other day. The hotel was perfect. The room had a nice bed and a balcony with a wonderful view over the snow-caped mountains. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I warmly recommend these hotel. For me it was a perfect base for exploring the sorroundings.

We visited Sparta, Laconia in south Peeloponnese Greece during Easter. We stayed in a very pleasant and quiet hotel, Dioscouri, with an interesting architecture on the high part of town with a splendid view of Mount Taygetos as well as the surrounding valley. The Byzantine city of Mistras with marvelous 4th century churches is a short distance of 3 klm.
The hotel with its special and warm architecture gives you the sense of home. The rooms are comfortable with verandas with a view to the park annd the cathedral.
A rich continental breakfast is served, with home made marmalade, honey. lovcal sweets, olives and local feta cheese,
The personnel were polite and friendly, always at our disposal.
We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Sparta.
