I travelled alone in Greece for one month. During my trip in Peloponese I stayed two nights in these nice hotel. Mystra was really beautiful and great to see, and I had a very nice walk the other day. The hotel was perfect. The room had a nice bed and a balcony with a wonderful view over the snow-caped mountains. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I warmly recommend these hotel. For me it was a perfect base for exploring the sorroundings.

We visited Sparta, Laconia in south Peeloponnese Greece during Easter. We stayed in a very pleasant and quiet hotel, Dioscouri, with an interesting architecture on the high part of town with a splendid view of Mount Taygetos as well as the surrounding valley. The Byzantine city of Mistras with marvelous 4th century churches is a short distance of 3 klm.
The hotel with its special and warm architecture gives you the sense of home. The rooms are comfortable with verandas with a view to the park annd the cathedral.
A rich continental breakfast is served, with home made marmalade, honey. lovcal sweets, olives and local feta cheese,
The personnel were polite and friendly, always at our disposal.
We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Sparta.

I guess the service makes all the difference to this hotel. Whereas it looks like an average provincial hotel from the outside, it is a really the place to stay in Sparti. I guess its cleanliness together with a warm ambience and the welcoming staff make it a cosy place to use as your base to explore the area. It has a real value

A relaxing cozy Hotel in the center of the town of Sparta with reasonable prices. It is close to the old byzantine city of Mystras, and to Gythion, the old pituresques port of Spara. The rooms are furnished with all necessary comforts, the service is excellent, always willing to provide useful tips about site seeing opportunities, shopping and whatever else needed. My friends and I would recommend it unreservedly to any traveller wanting to visit Sparta and the surrounding sites.

Quiet, friendly and with an easy access to visit Sparta's museums (about 5 to 10 minutes on foot). We enjoyed very much the breakfast, made of local products.

As you might have guessed by the title, the reviewer's former profession demands the attributes of a direct, matter-of-fact, and results-seeking individual. In addition, in both Business and/or Pleasure trips, I seek safe and convinient location, cleanliness, and comfort,.The search for such qualities is shared by my wife, who frequently accompanies in both Business and/or Pleasure trips.
Well, the Dioskouri meets all above qualities, and more:
Starting from the top, its Owners, Elias and Irene Meletopoulos and Manager Dimitris Asimakopoulos, lend a personal, professional, and craftfull touch to the entire hotel operation. (Note the name-ending in " -poulos ", denoting an individual, native of the territory, proud of his origin, culture, and history, and of the city accomplishments and products).
We have stayed at the Dioscouri, at least four times during the last eight years. Each time, new surprises were in store for us:
The exquisitely and tastefully furnished rooms.....had expanded. Cleanliness and hygeine dominated the quarters. As per my habit, on occasion I even inspected under the mattress, looking for signs of bed bugs. The updated bathrooms were also spotless. Welcome gift- and quality toiletry amenities not usually found in luxury hotels world-wide, galore.
We are most anxious to return to the Dioscouri Hotel SOON.

Room Tip: 1) Decide whether good view or quietness is of greater value to you. 2) Some corner rooms are bette...
