We booked with Nassos well in advance of our visit. He was very easy to deal with in the planning of our day and payment of his requested deposit was easy through PayPal. Our agreed on tour was the Olympia archeological site and museum (with a separate licensed guide hired through Nassos), Olympia village, the nunnery, and then Agios Andreas.
Nassos picked us up promptly at our cruise port, but things got odd after that. Upon getting into his taxi, he informed us (in somewhat passable English) that we were visiting the nunnery first because it would not be open later. This was a bit disappointing since it meant we would be getting to Olympia archeological site during the later/hotter part of the day. Twenty minutes later we were basically dropped off at the nunnery, and following a 5 minute history lesson from one of the nuns, we were instructed to wander around on our own. Unlike another small group there with an informative taxi driver, Nassos did not join us on our tour or provide input about the history of the nunnery. After a brief and non-informative visit, albeit with some very nice photos of the beautiful landscape, we got back in the taxi and headed to Olympia. There, Nassos turned us over to our licensed Olympia tour guide, Eleni Statha and informed us that he had to go back to the office, so his mother would be completing our tour after Olympia. What the???
Our tour of the Olympia archeological site and museum with Eleni was absolutely magnificent, and the highlight of the day. Her knowledge of the history, art, archeology, myths and legends was a treat to us adults as well as our daughter, who is quite the Greek mythology nerd.
Upon completion of our historic tour, we were met by Nassos' mother, who appeared to speak minimal English, but made it clear (through Eleni) that she wanted to take us back to the ship. To which we said, "no, we are not done our tour yet". What happened to Olympia village and Agios Andreas? So we walked around Olympia village, had a light lunch and then returned to the taxi. Eleni was still there because she apparently needed a ride. So we shared our small taxi with her (at no discount to us) and enjoyed listening to some more history from her as we drove to her destination. From there, with our interpreter (Eleni) gone, we simply had Nassos' mother take us back to the ship rather than go to Agios Andreas as originally planned.
Katakolon was the last stop in our 5-port cruise, and we were certainly spoiled with amazing, well informed, educational, and helpful guides at our first four ports. So perhaps expectations at Katakolon were high. Overall, it was a good day, and I would recommend Nassos for his taxi service. Just don't expect much in the way of guide services.

Our chofer was on time and with a sign with my name. He spoke english and was very friendly. The car was impecable, had wifi and bottle water. He took us into ancient Olympia, a winery (amazing time, we had wine & olives), a beach, downtown Olympia and at the end we asked him to take us to a grocery store for supplies and he kindly did! We highly recommend this service.

This was one of the best tours we did on our Mediterranean Cruise. The Olympia site was fantastic, but the winery afterwards was superb and then the coffee stop overlooking the ocean on the way back just topped off a perfect day. Our guide, Nancy, was the most wonderful person who made our day very special. Thank you so much Nancy !!!

Nasos met the six of us with a Mercedes van at the dock. He drove us to Ancient Olympia and waited in the van while we toured the ruins and the museum. He let us set the schedule. We ended up staying about 2.5 hours at Ancient Olympia and since we were hungry, he dropped us off at restaurant for a quick lunch in the main part of town. Afterwards, he drove us to the Kremasti Monastery (now a nunnery). Because it was closing soon, Nasos was able to talk to the nuns and let us come inside anyway. It was nice to have a private driver take us around the area.

Nassos was there to greet us when we arrived and drove us to the nunnery where we were provided with cold water, Turkish delight and a detailed history of how the nunnery and church came to be on this site . We then ventured to Olympia and the museum after which Nassos took us to a sea side resort where we enjoyed afternoon refreshments overlooking the crystal waters. Nassos was most helpful and attentive, providing us with cold bottled water and even giving us a small bottle of Greek wine. We were positively delighted that we chose Nassos to be our driver and happily recommend his services
