Understanding how the Olympics movement works was fasinating and mystical to see how many centurys ago and the same traditions are carried on... VIP lodging areas with upgraded ammenities, bath houses underground to keep waters warm. Stadiums and competition areas all in a surrounding zone. Some original artifacts give a feeling of how amazing the work that was accomplished was done in a time with no electricity or machinery but the detail was not to be challenged. Although much of the area was destroyed by an earthquake centuries ago, with a good guide or imagination is/was an amazing day, beautiful, place. The museum was ok, to appreciate the artwork again was amazing what they did in those days, but also to show how much they tried to preserve..

Don't miss it. A bit of a drive but was worth it

While the museum is relatively small, but provided a lot valuable historical artifacts and information.

I've been to most archaeological museum in Greek major sites, and I believe this one is the second biggest museum among them. It's worth seeing.

Impressive room explaining how enormous the Temple of Zeus was. Amazing statues from the façade. The top of the visit is perhaps to admire the white statue of Apollo and the model of male beauty at that time. Curious is the child on Apollo's arm...

This museum was really great. They take great care of everything they have found in the old Olympic Complex. Everything is marked really well so you know what you are looking at as well. You also get a great since of the scale of the buildings. Especially the temple of Zeus because they have some of the statues that were on the temple. They allow pictures with no flash and you can not take someones picture in front of the artifacts.
