“Excellent museum”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

I'm a little confused as to how taxi services and tour guides have higher ratings than the site of Olympia and the museum - do people come to Greece for the taxis??

We had a fantastic day at Olympia - driving ourselves to the site and touring the site on our own with a good guidebook. We expected to spend a few hours here, but ended up staying the entire day, ambling through slowly and taking the time to look at all the details. We loved the museum, filled with amazing artifacts, especially the friezes from the temple, well layed out. The room with the friezes is visually stunning, as you can get such a close-up view of the remaining statues. The bronzework at the museum is also interesting to see.

“Priceless experience”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

One of the best museums of Greece with some of the most impressive ancient Greek exhibits. Among them the Nike of Paionios, Hermes by Praxiteles, Zeus and Ganymedes, the helmet of Miltiades and above all the pediments and metopes of the Temple of Zeus. The museum also hosts the richest bronze collection in the world.
You can have this invaluable experience paying only 6 EUR or 9 EUR for both the museum and the archeological site. Considering where you are and what you see, you pay nothing really!

“Small, easy to manage museum”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This was nice as it wasn't overwhelming. I loved seeing how they are piecing the pediment together from the Temple of Zeus. The statue of Hadrian was the most intact that we saw on our journeys through Ancient Rome and Greece.

“Archaeological Museum visit”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

A must see. Lots of artifacts and history on the region, well worth the visit. You pay a one time fee for several sights and they are all worth the cost.
