We stayed here as part of our Cosmos tour 6486. Food was excellent after Italy. Staff was friendly and shopping was right there. Really great place

We stayed at the Olympia Palace for two nights in late October, our choice driven by the fact that we wanted a reasonably-priced hotel within walking distance of the archaeological site of Ancient Olympia as well as the 'downtown' of the modern village; and with a view, if possible. The Olympia Palace is the closest of the Olympia hotels to the site, and if you ask for rooms on the upper floor at the front, you see the site's trees even if not the antiquities. As for proximity: the hotel is a five-minute walk from the site entrance. Our rooms were plain but comfortable and clean; the bathrooms very small, with tub-showers that are tiny and hard to access. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. On one of the mornings we were there, we were the only people in the hotel, and instead of a buffet we were served an enormous breakfast a la carte. The next day, a group arrived, so they and we were given a varied, good breakfast buffet. The hotel is also close to the village's main street and restaurants: the only drawback to its location is the noise from the tour busses, especially mid-morning, when they all arrive, and later in the afternoon, when they leave. However, the nights were quiet; and in any case one shouldn't be in the hotel room during the day while in Olympia. We paid 75 E per night per double room including breakfast, and felt it was well worth it. We have been to Olympia a number of times, but this was our first stay at the Olympia Palace, and we were so pleased we'll certainly stay here again.

Stayed here one night on our Cosmos Tour of Italy and Greece. There's not too much outstanding about the hotel. The rooms were fairly big, but they looked pretty dated. Bedding was sparse, and of course we had the two twins pushed together (sigh.....you get tired of your leg getting stuck in the gap). Tiny bathroom with the worst hairdryer I have ever used. On the plus side was a balcony with chairs where we could sit outside, watch the sunset, and drink some wine.

The hotel itself seemed pretty dead except fo the restaurant. I have to say, they had HANDS DOWN the best continental breakfast I have had in any hotel in Europe. Even our buffet dinner the night efore was excellent, and the restaurant is pretty. We enjoyed that end of things. Otherwise I can't comment on the service since we barely interacted with any staff (this happens on a tour), and we were only there a day.

The best thing was its location to the ruins of Olympia. The entrance was just a block over. So awesome because you get get up early and beat the crowds over there. If I stayed there again, it would be for that reason mainly.

I loved this hotel and the city, even though this is a very quaint town. The people here and in the city were the most generous and friendly people I have ever seen on a trip. My husband and I were on theCosmos Italy & Greece Tour 6480 and this was our first hotel stay in Greece after leaving Italy. I feel that the people in Greece are very friendly and we felt safe the whole time. The hotel had all that we needed. They had a welcome snack with ouzo or juice .Try the ouzo even though it taste awful it is their national drink and you know the saying, when in Olympia. Our room had a balcony facing the front street but there was no noise. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the city from our balcony. The breakfast had the usual cold cheese and meats but also had bacon and eggs. They had their wonderful yogurt and honey. Our dinner was a wonder buffet. All meals were on their outdoor terrace. Do not forget to shop all the way down the street. Wonderful shops. One we really liked was "Olympia". The owner, Agelos Papalabros was great helping us pick out souvenirs and being honest with us.The ruins are just down the street and Cosmos took up there early before the hordes of people got there. So have an ouzo and a great vacation.

We walked into the hotel to a very heavy smell of smoke, a most unpleasant welcome. Smoking is everywhere in Greece, I know, but this was particularly bad. The place felt deserted. It seemed like a lovely hotel, but entire parts of the hotel were closed down due to lack of use, so the place just felt spooky. I am not sure if the hotel has seen its better days or we just were there a little before peak season. Because so few people were staying there, we didn't have a large breakfast buffet. We were served a variety of breakfast foods at our table. We paid 95 euros for a room for 4, so the price was okay. The location is great, right across from the entrance to the ancient Olympic site. I highly recommend staying in Olympia overnight and getting to the Olympic site early before all of the tour buses. I am just not sure if this is the hotel to stay at. We did not look at other hotels.

We were so excited after reading the reviews already posted, we stumbled across this hotel surfing the web and were initially concerned due to its reasonable prices and what seemed like unbelievable value for money.I have to admit though this hotel is one of the best hotels that we ve stayed . We stayed in Olympia for three nights and they soon passed by, the last morning arrived and we were really sad to be leaving. The hotel is perfect for all travellers and especially couples. This hotel is great i hope you are lucky enough to enjoy it too!

We stayed here for two nights as a part of the Cosmos tour to Italy& Greece. This was one of the first hotels which offered welcome drinks and snacks. The positives - Proximity to the Ruins in Olympia (5 minute walk from the hotel), Spacious room, fairly elaborate buffet at the hotel restaurant, nice and quiet. The negatives - Air-conditioning did not work so well.
