We booked a one day private tour through TaxiKatakolo Tours. What a fabulous time! We started in Olympia, then he recommended an excellent place for lunch and some shopping. We then took off to a recommended winery where we had our own private tour & tasting. It was beautiful and everyone was so friendly. We then ended up at a Monastery that only our diver would know and take us. We were the only ones there and the view were gorgeous! I highly recommend this company as they are timely, will give you options, go around your schedule and what you'd like to do. It was a spectacular day& couldn't have done it without TaxiKatakolo Tours! Highly Recommended!!!!

We booked Andreas at the last minute for a private tour and I'm so glad we did. He provided us with a brief overview on the way to Olympia, assisted us with purchasing tickets, recommended an excellent restaurant for lunch and after learning we have bees back home, suggested we visit a small bee farm. It was the perfect day! I would recommend this tour to anyone. It was well worth the money paid. Thank you, Andreas!

I contacted Andreas after reading other TripAdvisor reviews. His response was fast and fantastic. He suggested one of his typical tours, but we wanted something a bit shorter.

He changed the itinerary with no fuss and the price accordingly.

We were blessed on the day to be met at our Cruise Ship by the lovely Marilena who was waiting with a very nice Mercedes Benz.

When I say blessed, I mean blessed. Marilena was just amazing. Her local knowledge was fantastic, and she was just a fantastic person to get to know. After a very short time, we felt like friends.

Andreas made the experience so easy. We only booked 3 days before our Cruise Ship arrived and he made it all simply a breeze.

Marilena was the icing on the cake. She made the trip something we will remember forever.

A huge thanks to both Andreas and Marilena..!!

We had a wonderful tour of Athens! Our driver was so helpful and kind. His English was extremely good and we had a much better tour because of that. I highly recommend them for anyone that wants a great tour!

One our first time to Katakolon, a couple we joined for the day had organized TaxiKatakolo Tours. It was a great trip. Marilena met us as soon as we came out of the gate at the cruise ship dock. She was friendly and professional. She drove us to Olympia, gave us a book to use while we were there and water if we needed it. (We knew ahead of time that they aren't allowed to take us on a tour of the site). Then, we went to Klio's Honey Farm. At first we weren't excited with this stop but we had a delightful time there: water, fruit juice, an entertaining and educational talk about bees and honey, a taste of the honey on Greek pastry and a chance to visit the small shop (we did buy both honey and moisturizer which also deters bugs). We then went to Olympialand Winery. They knew we were coming and we had a lovely seat on the porch where we had a wine tasting with delicious food with their own olive oil. We then wanted to go to lunch. It was a holiday in Greece so places were very full. The first place we looked at was heaving with people but Marilena then took us to another place right on the beach called To Kyma. It was also full but Marilena was able to talk to the owner and get us a table. The food was great and plentiful. There was very fresh seafood and two of our group chose their own fish which was prepared perfectly. Then, Marilena dropped us off back at the port with plenty of time to catch our ship.

Oddly enough, we ended up on another cruise with a different set of friends (with a different itinerary) that also stopped in Katakolon. We contacted Andreas who answered quickly and we asked for Marilena again because we enjoyed her so much the first time. They were very flexible about where we wanted to go and gave us suggestions for the wine tasting which turned out to be right on the mark. We wanted to go to the Kremasti Monastery first. Marilena got us there and it was an amazing site - beautiful vistas. She parked at the top of the hill (where you can't see much but the view) and then took us down some stairs to the church. While we waited, she went down to find a nun to let us into the church. It was built into a cave, intimate and covered in religious art - a must see place. There was no charge to visit but we were able to leave a donation for the church. Marilena then went up to get to the car while we wandered down through the site and she met us at the bottom. (Please note that this site requires men to have long pants and women to wear skirts (that said, these were provided so that we were able to visit with no problem). We then went back to Klio's Honey Farm. We wanted our friends to be able to have the same experience we did and we enjoyed ourselves as much the second time as we did the first. We were then driven to Olympialand Winery where we got to see the vineyard, the processing, bottling and storage areas and then had a wine tasting. We then had asked about visiting the Mercouri Estate Winery. Andreas had warned us that there were often large tour groups, which we were trying to avoid, but we thought we would try. There weren't too many people so we went in. They wanted to charge us 2 Euros just to go into the building so we decided not to go. For some reason this really upset the woman there and Marilena had to explain to her our objection. We felt in good hands since we don't speak any Greek and she was able to take care of whatever the problem was... We then went back to the same restaurant on the beach (at our request) and we had another lovely lunch there.
Then, Marilena dropped us back off at the cruise ship dock.
We would use Marilena and TaxiKatakolo Tours should we find ourselves there again. They made it an easy and stress-free day in port where we were able to avoid large crowds and "do our own thing". Plus, it was great to be in a small group where we could ask questions as we went along both about living in the area, Greece and other parts of life there which we would not have been able to do in a big group. The car was immaculately clean, including the trunk which we used to stash purchases, backpacks and purses when we wanted to walk around without them.

I booked Andreas online. He was responsive from the first time we touched base. My husband and I shared the tour with another couple on the cruise.
Andreas was on time to meet us at the port. We immediately went along our way to Olympia. He made it clear that he is not a tour guide and cannot provided a guided tour inside Olympia. He gave us a book to use while we were in Olympia.
We then continued to a bee farm. Very interesting. Andreas then took us to the top of the monastery. Unfortunately it was closed. But we managed to take some photos. Andreas was kind enough to send me some photos of inside the monastery. As our cruise ship only docked at 11am, we did not have time to go to a winery.

Overall an excellent experience. Andreas is very friendly and gave us so much info about the area. We are looking forward to the olive oil Andreas gave us from his family farm. I would highly recommend Andreas.

Highly recommend TaxiKatakolo! We had a very pleasant, sunny day traveling from the cruise port to Ancient Olympia with our outstanding driver, Taki! He provided excellent commentary on his country & the ancient Olympia site. He provided a book with map so as we could tour the site ourselves at our own pace...He was flexible with our change in plans to have lunch at a local eatery (instead of visiting a winery, etc). The best lunch of our entire week...authentic Greek cuisine...Delicious!

When me and my girlfriend went on holiday to Greece we really wanted to visit the temple of Vassae. Because there is no public transport we decided to look for a taxi. We found the website by googling and made a phonecall to Andreas to ask the rate. For a good price he brought us from Pyrgos to the temple and back with enough time to see everything. Afterwards we were really glad we decided to hire Andreas services. He is a very nice guy, his english is good and he knows a lot about the area. He arrived exactely on the appointed time. The ride was pleasant and comfortabele and the views were amazing. And we didnt feel rushed at all while visiting the temple. When we told him we wanted to visit Olympia in the afternoon he even dropped us off there on the way back and gave us information on the bus back to Pyrgos. When you are in the area of Pyrgos and you decide to visit the temple of Vassae (or other things in the area) we can definitely recommend Andreas!

I booked our tour with TaxiKatakolo months in advance based on the excellent reviews I read about them. Christos delivered on our high expectations! He was super friendly to start (and on time!) and was happy to tailor our day to our pace. He shared his love for his country and shared the most unique adventure with us. We visited Kremasti Monastery ( somewhere the tours buses could NEVER get to), brought us to a local winery, and a wonderful local restaurant. We had a wonderful visit. Thank you, Christos!
